The 2012 Stellar Awards “Best New Artist” winner and BET’s Season 2 winner (2009) has been singing “since she could talk.” Her love for music and heart for God’s people is what keeps her motivated and dedicated to her gift. With a strong and unmatched vocal style, Y’Anna, the second child of a retired public school employee and a Civil Service HR specialist has two brothers and two sisters hailing from the Nation’s Capitol, Washington, DC.

Y’Anna has a dynamic personality that shines through with the grace of her voice and the sparkle of her smile, which has made her a highly sought after host and workshop speaker. She is a true gem that has taken the industry by storm.

A single of mother of two wonderfully active boys, Y’Anna knows the importance of balancing a life and career; she’s most humbled and appreciative for the new opportunities that being a Stellar Award winning artist has brought to her and her family.

Y’Anna is a woman of many talents, "I'm constantly in awe of the ways God is allowing me to do EVERYTHING I've ever wanted to do. From singing all over world; to writing music for some of my heroes; to obtaining my license as a Zumba instructor. With God all things really are possible". Y’Anna has shared the stage with artists such as , Mary Mary, Ledisi, Angie Stone, Kelly Price, Donald Lawrence, and Raheem DeVaughn. Showcasing her love for vocal arrangement and songwriting, her gifts can also be found on display on projects with Jennifer Lopez, Angie Stone (title track on upcoming LP), Raheem DeVaughn, and many others.

When asked about Y’Anna, Donald Lawrence mused, "She is a true talent, a kingdom citizen and someone who is without a doubt, going to have a huge impact on the Gospel Music Scene. I look forward to watching her career evolve and let it be said, Donald Lawrence is a FAN!!” Having had the pleasure to judge her on Sunday Best, Bebe Winans said, "When she sang 'Grandma's Hands' she won the competition. She made you believe what she sang. . . .You have to be good to do that."

Y’Anna is not only a devoted mother, daughter, and singer but she is consistently involved in a variety of community service initiatives through work with her non-profit, The Promise Foundation. Geared toward meeting the needs of single mothers, and young women between the ages of 18 and 25, the foundation's focus is around promoting healthy living for the whole woman: spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional.

Since winning the Stellar Award for "Best New Artist", Y’Anna has been "Working, working, working! So many wonderful things are happening to me and my family." The world will continue to watch the evolution of another addition to the list of "The Greatest Singers of All Time", starting with the release of Y’Anna's sophomore project, due out in the fall of 2012. "I'm so thankful for the love and support thus far; I can't wait to show the world more of me on this next project."
