August 2020 marked the 80th anniversary of Brother Rog- er Schutz founding the Taize Community. He sought out a place to lead a monastic life of prayer and meditation, and found that home in Taize, France. The Christ-centered community grew to over 100 brothers from 30 countries around the world. Over 100,000 Christians have made the pilgrimage to Taize to pray with the brothers, mostly youth from around the world. The brothers lead annual world meetings in an effort to promote peace.
