Thursday, September 5, 2019 ● 7:00 PM San Antonio Zoo Education Center Penguins at SeaWorld San Antonio: Social, Piscivorous and Tuxedo Clad
Discover what it's like to work with and care for the amazing penguins at SeaWorld San Antonio. Lloyd Tyndall, aviculturist and penguin care expert, will talk about the species of penguins at the water park and the daily care of a large diverse colony ranging from chicks to adults.
Lloyd’s talk will also highlight working with the birds, including using embryonic ectoderm development (EED), feeding, nesting season, guest interaction tours with the penguins and last but not least, play time with the penguins!

things, where Migratory Bird Conservation Fund (MBCF) dollars would be spent. The MBCF is where the annual funds collected through Duck Stamps are deposited.
The commission approved more than $15.1 million from the MBCF to secure 4,886 acres for five national wildlife refuges, including two in Texas: Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, $1,988,000 and San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge, $1,690,900.
This latest stamp features a Wood Duck with a background decoy, painted by Scot Storm, a native of Freeport, Minnesota. (Storm also had his pair of flying Redheads grace the 2004-2005 Federal stamp.) Each stamp today costs $25 with 98% of the funds collected going to habitat acquisition. Bring $25 cash or check to purchase your stamp at our September 5 Audubon meeting. For $2 more, you'll receive a plastic holder to display your Duck Stamp proudly on your binoculars or backpack to show you support bird habitat! The stamp also guarantees you free admission into any National Wildlife Refuge in the United States.The new stamp is good through June of 2020.

Our Bexar Audubon and San Antonio Audubon Society Annual Dinner speaker will be West Virginia-based author and conservationist Katie Fallon, co-founder of the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia, a nonprofit research, education and rehabilitation center for injured birds. Katie is a member of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators and has glove-trained a wide variety of raptor species.
