Voice Smart Networks Phone Systems for Hospitality/Lodging We Understand the Demands of Today’s Independent Hotel/Motel Owners... That’s why we provide our lodging and hospitality customers Voiceware by PhoneSuite, a phone system that meets guests expectations and brand requirements. Voiceware provides your guests and administrative staff features typically only found in expensive large luxury hotel phone systems, but without the high costs. Voiceware is designed and engineered by hoteliers for hoteliers, transforming traditional hotel telephone systems by tailoring VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) technology to the business needs of the property. Utilizing these ground-breaking technologies provides Independent Hotel Owners with an affordable full-featured system for wake-up calls, group management, front desk operations and more. The Voiceware Difference • VoIP/SIP Technology - Eliminates costly monthly local and long distance phone bills dramatically cutting the hotel’s operational expenses. • No Infrastructure Upgrades Required - Use existing room phones and wiring • Built in Call Accounting - Call Accounting is a standard feature of Voiceware. Calls are measured in a Call Detail Record (CDR) and can be printed out as a PDF report by room, or posted to the guest folio in the PMS. • E911 Priority - Whether guests dial 9 fi rst or not, a 911 call goes out, even if the room phone is blocked from making outside calls. The front desk console fl ashes an alarm and displays “911 dialed from room xxxx”. When a guest dials 911 and all phone lines are in use, Voiceware will drop a non-emergency call to give priority to the emergency call.

The Honorable Mitch McConnell The Honorable Nancy Pelosi Majority Leader Speaker of the House of Representatives United States Senate United States House of Representatives Washington, DC 20510 Washington, DC 20510 The Honorable Charles Schumer The Honorable Kevin McCarthy Minority Leader Minority Leader United States Senate United States House of Representatives Washington, DC 20510 Washington, DC 20510 March 20, 2020 Dear Leader McConnell, Leader Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, and Leader McCarthy: We are America’s travel industry, an economic sector that directly employs 9 million American workers and supports a total of 15.8 million jobs. The travel and tourism industry—including but not limited to transportation, lodging, recreation and entertainment, food and beverage, meetings, conferences and business events, travel advisors, destination marketers—is comprised of businesses of all sizes, but the vast majority, 83%, are small businesses. Together we are grappling with the immediate and devastating impact of the current health crisis. Furloughs of American travel workers are happening right now. Travel to and within the United States has essentially ground to a stop due to the actions needed to halt the spread of coronavirus. Aggressive financial relief is needed immediately. Taking care of our employees will always be our top priority, but the hard fact is we cannot continue supporting them through this disaster without relief. To that end, we greatly appreciate and strongly support provisions in the ‘‘Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act’’ that provide: • $300 billion for enhanced Small Business Administration (SBA) loans distributed through an expedited process and can be partially forgiven for employee retention; and • Tax relief to mitigate economic losses, including deferral of tax liability, extension of the Net Operating Loss deduction, and delay of estimated tax payments.

The selection of an appropriate franchise affiliation affects a property’s ability to compete in its local market, generate profits, and achieve a desirable image and market orientation. Because the success of a hotel is based primarily on the cash flow generated, owners and lenders must weigh the benefits of a brand affiliation against the total cost of such a commitment. Please note that the study results are not indicative of the impact an individual brand may have on a hotel’s overall profitability because only the costs, and not the benefits of the franchise affiliations, have been analyzed. Furthermore, the study does not reflect, nor does it claim to address, operating results of any one brand or any particular brand affiliation upon any single hotel property. The 2018 U.S. Franchise Fee Guide is meant to illustrate a basic comparison among franchise fees charged by participants. HVS has extensive experience with assisting clients in selecting the appropriate franchise and/or management brand for their proposed or existing hotels.
