Mechanical Research Content Our laboratory is researching on the terahertz wave propagation control of terahertz waves. Terahertz (THz) waves are elctromagnetic waves in the frequency range of 0.1 THz to 10THz. In recent years, the THz waves oscillation and detection technologies, such as photo conductive Electrical antennas and electro-optic crystals, have been developed, and studies on various applications in a wide range of fields are progressing rapidly. THz waves have many potential applications such as information communication technology, biotechnology and medical. To realize these application, propagation control technologies of THz waves are necessary. Moreover, as a material for THz waves Materials propagation control device, we focus on liquid crystals which Terahertz time domain spectroscopy system have optical anisotroppy in the THz.
