"APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY WEEK"— PROCLAMATION Apr- 26, 1979 [S. Con. Res. 11] Whereas April 27 through May 1 has been designated as "Appro­ priate Technology Week" throughout the United States; and Whereas appropriate technology is energy saving, anti-inflationary, labor intensive, decentralized, easily maintained, environmen­ tally sound, capital saving, and fosters free enterprise and competi­ tion; and Whereas the American people, industry, and labor should be made aware of the realization and potential of appropriate technol­ ogies; and Whereas Federal, State, and local governments should promote and encourage further development, refinement, and deployment of appropriate technologies; and Whereas the realization and the promise of appropriate technology will be observed and celebrated on the Washington Mall from April 27 through May 1, 1979, through the ACT '79 Fair/Confer­ ence: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), That the 27th of April through the 1st of May 1979, be proclaimed "Appropriate Technology Week", and that the people and the repre­ sentatives of government, industry, and labor in the United States be urged to participate in the programs, discussions, demonstration, celebrations, and other activities to mark the week. NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERTS ON THE CAPITOL GROUNDS Mays, 1979 [H. Con. Res. 114] Whereas the National Symphony Orchestra has expressed a desire to perform free concerts on the United States Capitol Grounds for the entertainment of the citizenry of our Nation; and Whereas these performances would be similar to those presently given by the service bands under authority of 40 U.S.C. 1931: Now, therefore, be it 93 STAT. 1412 CONCURRENT RESOLUTIONS—, 1979

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That the National Park Service shall be permitted to sponsor a series of four National Symphony Orchestra concerts on the Capitol Grounds during 1979, such concerts to be free to the public and arranged not to interfere with the needs of Congress, under condi­ tions to be provided by the Architect of the Capitol. Res. 65] Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), Printing as That there be printed as a House document a revised edition of "The House Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United document; additional States of America", revised under the direction of the Joint Commit­ copies. tee on Printing. SEC. 2. In addition to the usual number of copies, there shall be printed two hundred and seventy-eight thousand additional copies, of which two hundred and twenty-one thousand five hundred copies shall be for the use of the House of Representatives, fifty-one thousand five hundred copies shall be for the use of the Senate and five thousand copies shall be for the use of the Joint Committee on Printing. In addition to the usual number of copies, there shall be printed two hundred and seventy-eight thousand additional copies, of which two hundred and twenty-one thousand five hundred copies shall be for the use of the House of Representatives, fifty-one thousand five hundred copies shall be for the use of the Senate, and five thousand copies shgill be for the use of the Joint Committee on Printing.
