PALIO 2018
Experience the Palio di Siena directly from a window over- looking the famous “Piazza del Campo ”. The Palio di Siena is one of the most famous horse races in Italy and is held twice each year, on July 2 and August 16. The origins of this race are medieval, and the first modern Palio took place is 1656. The race takes place with ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appro- priate colors representing ten of the seventeen contrade, or city wards – the riders circle three times around the Piazza del Campo, one of the symbols of Siena. The race is preceded by a magnificent pageant, the Corteo Storico, precedes the race, which includes (among many others) Alfieri, flag-wavers, in medieval costumes.

CONDITIONS Prices are per room, per night and include VAT and service charges. The occupancy tax is not included (4 € per person, per day). The package is for a minimum 3-night stay with the possibility of an extension. Your preferred time for the SPA is subject to availability and to reconfirmation at the time of reservation. Children under the age of 16 years are not admitted in the indoor SPA area.
The stay must include the night of 2nd July or 16th August.
METHOD OF PAYMENT: 50% deposit of the total cost of the stay at the time of reservation. The balance is to be paid at least 7 days prior to the arrival date.
CANCELLATION TERMS: Up to 15 days from the arrival date, no penalty will be incurred in case of cancellation. From 14 to 7 days before arrival, in case of cancellation the 50% deposit will be withheld. After that date, the entire cost of the stay will be withheld as penalty.
POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT: In case of postponement of the event or in case of definitive cancellation caused by any unusual and unforeseeable events beyond the control of Castel Monastero (including but not limited to bad weather, strikes and all other similar event), Castel Monastero will not be required to reimburse any deposit to the customer or pay anything as compensation, nor the customer may claim reimbursement of any additional costs incurred in case of postponement of the event ( i.e. costs for new event tickets, costs for extension of stay, costs for the change of flight reservations or/and transfers etc. ).
