Nel pomeriggio visite di Vientiane, la capitale del Laos che, con i suoi 200.000 abitanti, sembra più una tranquilla cittadina di provincia. Il centro è caratterizzato da ampi boulevard e ville risalenti al periodo coloniale francese. Le visite comprenderanno: ARETINA TOUR OPERATOR www.aretinatours.com www.turismoinIndia.it 0575.902564 [email protected] Wat Si Saket, costruito nel 1818 durante il regno di re Anouvong (Sethathirath V), è realizzato in stile siamese con un chiostro interno contenente più di 2.000 statuette del Buddha in ceramica ed argento; Haw Phra Kaew, un tempo dimora della immagine sacra del Buddha di Smeraldo, la stessa oggi conservata presso il Wat Prakeo di Bangkok. Al giorno d’oggi lo Haw Phra Kaew contiene vari oggetti sacri e statue del Buddha in varie pose di meditazione realizzate in bronzo risalenti al XVIII Secolo; Pha That Luang "Grande Stupa", è il monumento più importante del Laos nonché simbolo nazionale, venne costruito nel III Secolo come tempio indù e la leggenda vuole che contenga alcuni capelli del Buddha; sosta presso il Patuxai "Arco della Vittoria", costruito tra 1957 ed il 1968 è dedicato a coloro che hanno combattuto nella lotta per l'indipendenza dalla Francia; visita del Lao National Museum, situato in un edificio coloniale francese, presenta la storia del Laos mettendo in evidenza la lotta del popolo laotiano per liberare il paese da occupanti stranieri. In serata, dopo la cena di benvenuto, si può godere di una passeggiata serale lungo le rive del fiume Mekong molto popolare tra la gente del posto. Pernottamento a Vientiane. GIORNO 2: VIENTIANE – VANG VIENG Colazione in hotel e visita del Talat Sao, il mercato mattutino, dopodiché partenza via terra alla volta di Vang Vieng. Il viaggio dura circa tre ore dalla capitale. Vang Vieng una volta era un aeroporto militare chiave durante le guerre in Indocina la cui pista, ormai abbandonata, è ancora visibile lungo il lato orientale della città, sul lato occidentale invece un piccolo fiume separa la città dalle vicine grotte e montagne calcaree caratteristiche di questa zona che danno origine a paesaggi molto suggestivi. Pranzo in ristorante locale durante il viaggio, arrivo a Vang Vieng e tempo libero a disposizione. Cena non inclusa e pernottamento in hotel. GIORNO 3: VANG VIENG – XIANGKHOUANG Colazione in hotel e partenza da Vang Vieng alla volta della Provincia di Xiangkhouang attraversando paesaggi mozzafiato. All'arrivo sistemazione nelle camere e proseguimento per la visita della misteriosa Piana delle Giare un vasto gruppo di siti archeologici contenente migliaia di ARETINA TOUR OPERATOR www.aretinatours.com www.turismoinIndia.it 0575.902564 [email protected] vasi di pietra, che si trovano sparsi in tutta la pianura posta nel nord-est del Laos ai piedi della Cordigliera Annamita, la principale catena montuosa dell’Indocina. L’origine e l’utilizzo di queste grandi giare è ancora incerto. La maggior parte del materiale scavato copre uno spazio temporale molto vasto che va dal 500 a.C. fino all’800 d.C. Antropologi e archeologi hanno teorizzato che i vasi possono essere stati utilizzati come urne funerarie o forse per immagazzinare prodotti alimentari. Visita del sito archeologico 1 Thong Hai Hin distante circa 15 km a sud-ovest da Phonsavan, è il più grande dei siti con circa 250 giare, ciascuna con un peso variabile dai 600 kg fino ad una tonnellata dove la più grande delle quali pesa ben sei tonnellate! Proseguimento delle visite presso alcuni vicini villaggi delle tribù delle collina dove si potrà entrare in contatto con la loro affascinante cultura e storia secolare, al termine delle visite rientro in hotel. Pranzo incluso durante la giornata e cena libera, pernottamento in hotel a Xiangkhouang. GIORNO 4: XIANGKHOUANG - LUANG PRABANG Colazione in hotel e partenza verso Luang Prabang, l'antica capitale del Regno di Lan Xang, il "Regno del Milione di Elefanti", che conta più di trenta dorati templi buddhisti che caratterizzano questa città ricca di atmosfera e storia. Luang Prabang è riconosciuta Patrimonio dell’Umanità dell’UNESCO dal 1995, si trova in una posizione favorevole, circondata da montagne e racchiusa fra il Mekong e il fiume Khan. Le colline, la penisola che si insinua tra i due fiumi, i templi imponenti, la popolazione multi etnica creano un insieme suggestivo e armonioso. Pranzo in ristorante locale e nel pomeriggio visite della città che comprenderanno: Wat Visoun, nome completo Wat Wisunalat – costruito nel 1520 durante il regno di Re Visounarat; Wat Aham, costruito all'inizio del XIX Secolo, le sue due figure di guardiani poste ai piedi dei gradini di accesso rappresentano due personaggi del Ramayana: Hanuman, il dio scimmia e uno yaksa feroce; Wat Xienthong, il tempio principale della città, costruito nel 1560 da Re Setthathirath è situato all'estremità orientale di Luang Prabang dove il fiume Kham si getta nel Mekong. GIORNO 5: LUANG PRABANG - GROTTE DI PAK OU Al mattino presto, se lo si desidera, ci sarà la possibilità di assistere al passaggio di centinaia di monaci per la questua mattutina lungo il corso centrale di Luang Prabang, la Phothisalath Road, sarà anche possibile fare offerte ai monaci. Colazione in hotel e trasferimento al molo per poi proseguire in barca risalendo la corrente fino alle grotte sacre di Pak Ou. Queste grotte sono situate alla base di una scogliera calcarea che scende a picco sulle acque del Mekong, contengono più di 5.000 statue e statuette del Buddha poste nel corso dei secoli dai fedeli che tutt'ora vengono in pellegrinaggio in questa grotta. Visita del tempio Wat Longkhoune famoso per I suoi affreschi risalenti al XVIII Secolo e proseguimento per il villaggio di Ban Sang Hai famoso per la produzione di un distillato locale a base di riso il lao lao. Durante il rientro verso Luang Prabang visita del villaggio di Ban Xang Khong famoso per la produzione di carta di riso e tessiture artigianali. Pranzo incluso durante la giornata e cena libera. Pernottamento a Luang Prabang. GIORNO 6: LUANG PRABANG - CASCATE DI KUANG SI Colazione in hotel trasferimento alle cascate di Kuang Si. Possibilità di fare il bagno nelle piscine naturali che si formano alla base di ogni salto della cascata grazie alla presenza di piccole cabine in legno per poter indossare il costume da bagno. Lungo il tragitto di ritorno si visiteranno alcuni villaggi delle varie etnie che popolano il Laos: Ban Thinkeo della tribù H’Mong; il villaggio Khmu di Ban Thapaene ed il villaggio della tribù Thai Lu di Ban Phanom. Passport/Visa: Most foreign passengers to Laos can obtain a visa on arrival, provided that: (i) they are arriving at one of the following airports: Vientiane International, Luang Prabang, Pakse, Warray; (ii) they are holding a return/onward ticket and the necessary travel documentation for their next destination; (iii) they have a confirmed hotel reservation in Laos; and (iv) they are in possession of one photograph, size 3 x 4 cm (however, it is always recommened to travel with more than one) (v) their passport contains at least two unused visa pages. These tourist visas are valid for 30 days. Note that a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Laos, if arriving within six days of leaving or transiting through an infected area.

ISSN 1567-214x Keywords: Ritual Item, Style, Belief, Luang Prabang ABSTRACT The dissertation titled: The styles and beliefs of amulets in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR aimed to study the patterns and beliefs of amulets in Luang Prabang in Lao PDR, particularly in the fifth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh months (in Laos beliefs). The study was conducted with the qualitative by applying the concepts, and theoretical framework of Structural-functional and semiology theory then presented with the descriptive analysis.
