Beast meets beast

Tomball High School senior Jonathan Downey, who was cast in the role as the Beast in the Tomball STAGE performance of Beauty and the Beast, met Broadway performer Chuck Wagner, who was in the original company of Beauty and the Beast in 1994. Wagner also appeared in over 1,200 performances in the role as the Beast. He also met with the THS theatre students and talked about his experiences while performing in Beauty and the Beast and other Broadway productions such as Into the Woods, Les Miserables, Three Musketeers, and Jekyll & Hyde. He also provided tips to calm stage fright, and encouraged the students to have the courage to pursue their goals in life. Tomball High School STAGE will perform Beauty and the Beast on Nov. 10-12 and Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. Beauty and the Beast tickets are $10 online in advance, $12.50 at the box office in advance, and $15 on the day of the show. Children 12 and under and Senior Citizens can purchase tickets for $6 for the Saturday matinee performance of Beauty and the Beast. All performances will be held at the Tomball High School Auditorium, located at 30330 Quinn Road.
