September. and November Membership Dues: $15.00/year payable in U.S. Funds *F*I*,r*E* fro::m the R *H*O*D*E *Another year in the life of the North American English Ford Registry is drawing to a close, and I've been thinking about the EnFo enthusiasts that have contacted me of late. An interesting thing about the overwhelming majority of these "contacts" is that I hear from them via the U.S. Postal Service or the EnFo Hotline. There are surely better ways to interact with people of similar interests, but given the geographical reality of the Registry, phone calls and letters are often the only way. **For those of you reading this, my sincere thanks for your continued support, words of encouragement, and contributions to YOUR newsletter. This endeavor would not work without members, and in my tenure I have tried a quite a few ways of trying to grow the membership and pique the interest of those incline~ towards the EnFo fold. I do this by limited advertising in a few different publications, and by relying on members' word of mouth advertising as well. ***1 receive calls and letters on a regular basis from people interested in the Registry. I provide them with the usual EnFo pep talk that goes something like "Well yes, they are rare, but no one knows what they are or wants them so they aren't worth a whole heck of a lot." I encourage them to have a look at the newsletter (which I send to them sans classified ad section-along with a membership application) and let them know we'd be honored to have them join.

With this issue the membership is hovering at 150, which is pretty amazing, all things considered. One hundred and fifty like-minded individuals who are keeping a candle burning for cars that were fairly uncommon at least on this side of the pond. 7ongratulations and keep up the good work! **My daily driver quizlcontest from the ,JovemberlDecember issue remains unsolved--and the prize unclaimed--so keep those cards and letters coming. Member Michael Mac Sems from Olympia, Washington writes: "There is only one possibility. Even though it is not English, it must be a Scorpio." Well, Michael, there is another possibility, and it's not a Scorpio. And from Foster City, CA, member Pete Snyders writes: "In the NovlDec '96 issue, I would like to guess that the new 4D EnFo you purchased is a Consul Classic 315, maybe a 109E, 1340 cc? The only car built by EnFo with a "soft ride" that I can think of besides a Cortina Mk II Automatic." Very good reasoning, but still off the mark.

  • News Letter August/September 2019 Activities and Events of WMPMC
News Letter August/September 2019 Activities and Events of WMPMC The year has progressed very rapidly and the various sections of the motor club have been busy competing and marshalling at different events, there have been visits to car shows and a Hill Climb, all part of the eclectic social scene. Membership is looking very healthy, all thanks to new membership secretary Debbie Palmer, thanks Debbie, however, additional new members would be very welcoming. Racing Well as the season ended for Paul Clackett and what a way to finish. Two races at Anglesey Race Circuit. Due to an indiscretion by Paul he lost all his qualifying times and had a 10 second penalty at the start of the race. So for race 1 he started at the back of the grid and 10 seconds after everybody started he was released. He drove through the field not literally and got up to 2nd, a good result. He had a slight engine issue during the race. The team tried to find the problem but it reappeared for race 2. So no heroics and achieved a safe 2nd place in race 2. This, as it turned out was what was needed for Paul to secure the overall MGCC Cockshoot Cup Championship for 2019. The final round was at Oulton Park Circuit, Paul went out for qualifying but on his 2nd lap had an electrical issue and the engine stopped. He coasted into the pits. The team managed to get the engine fired up so he went out and did the 3 laps required to qualify for the race.

I was pleased to see a photo of a 100E Anglia as part of the spread, and doubly pleased to see that Kip Lankenau had won a First Junior with the car--a 1958 For Anglia in Class 27-C. I's nice to see other members showing their cars!" **Congratulation Kip and our hats off to any and all NAEFR members who show their EnFos. Speaking of shows, while the mail hasn't been to busy in terms of hearing from you members out there, I have been deluged by British car clubs in general with fliers and advertisements .for a variety of all British shows. While we don't have the space in Lines to acknowledge all of these events, I do hope that if there are shows or meets in your area, you'll get your EnFo out there and fly the flag for Dagenham! *-Ufe here in Providence seems to be winding up and winding down simultaneously.

  • English Ford Lines Volume 6 Number 3
Volume 6, Number 3 David O. Wiggins, Editor May I June 1997 Robert W. Pare, Founder & Editor Emeritus :1- ~f Published bi-monthly on 15 January, March, May, July, September, and November Membership Dues: $15.00/year payable in U.S. Funds •F·I•V·E· from the R·H •0 •D•E *Thanks to the loyal NAEFR members who braved the threat of the notorious Pennsylvania May Monsoons and attended the Annual Meeting at Carlisle Import. Registry faithful in attendance included: Ken Doehring, Bill Poff, Al Taylor, Brian Dorothy, John Forwood, Scott Schisler (door prize winner), Tom Williams, John Mahey (NAEFR 1-year membership winner), Bob Pare, Jerry Hull, and Mike Snyder. Thanks again to all who showed and my apologies for being conspicuously absent due to 'NOrk commitments. Confirmed reports note, however, that a good time was had by all. Many diet sodas were· quaffed in a traditional English manner, and the in-the-shell peanuts were said to be of exquisite size and texture. **Those of us who didn't make Import Carlisle h~ve another chance at redemption by carrying the NAEFR and EnFo banner this year at Lime Rock Park. A challenge, or sorts, was issued to our Founder, Bob Pare requesting that NAEFR bring some cars and warm bodies to the historic races held over Labor Day Weekend at Lime Rock Park in Lime Rock, Connecticut. In order to have a proper showing and participate in the Sunday parade of vintage and veteran vehicles, we would have to convene at least 5 NAEFR members' EnFos.
