Health and Safety on Rambles Remember:  You must make sure you can see the person behind you. If you can’t, warn whoever is in front of you and stop.  On roads, do keep in to the roadside behind the leader, preferably in single file. Front and back markers must wear yellow reflective vests. All walkers are also encouraged to wear a yellow vest when walking on a road.  On walks, all participants are responsible for their own safety.  Let the leader or back marker know if you decide to take a comfort break or leave before the end of the walk, and make sure they have actually heard you.  Dogs on walks are allowed, as long as they are well behaved, always on leads, and kept out from under other walkers’ feet!

Walk changes and cancellation Do remember that it is at the leader’s discretion to cancel a walk due to inclement weather. If in doubt, please call the walk leader to see if the walk is going ahead. The website www.altonramblers.org.uk has an Updates page showing any changes to walks.
