The Toreros hold the advantage in offense (318.2-297.0) but the Bulldogs own the advantage in defense (322.2-334.9). Laster carried the ball 11 times for 177 yards to lead Jacksonville past Marist, 56-14, in PFL action, Saturday. Dewhirst tied the NCAA Division I record with a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in Jacksonville’s 56-14 PFL victory against Marist, Saturday. The interception came in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter and killed a Marist drive that had reached the 14-yard line. It is the second interception returned 100 yards in the FCS this season. He also recorded a pair of tackles and a pass breakup in the contest. It was Dewhirst’s third interception this season. James Vercammen, Dayton u Senior, Flyer, Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Vercammen forced two critical fourth-quarter fumbles to help Dayton down Campbell, 41-23, in PFL action, Saturday. His tackle of C.J. Oates led to a fumble that Dayton recovered at the Campbell 34-yard line and set up the Flyers second score of the quarter. Vercammen’s second fumble came on the Camels ensuing drive, his sack of quar- terback Daniel Polk stopping the drive at the Dayton 44-yard line and setting up the Flyers third scoring drive of the frame. Vercammen finished with a PFL season-best tying 17 tackles (eight solo) and 1½ tackles for loss, including the quarterback sack.
