SELECT Porsche Magazine No. 1 | 2018 SELECT Porsche Magazine Motorsports on the French Riviera In the streets of Monaco – where Porsche past meets Porsche future 2 Editorial Start your engines 2018 has arrived and we are looking forward to a very eventful year – and a very special one at that. Porsche is turning 70, and we would like to use this occasion to give you exciting insights into the history of the brand in this year’s issues of SELECT. The first stop is the Mediterranean Sea in Porsche Motorsport style. To a place where the race track really does define the cityscape: the Principality of Monaco. We’re taking the new Motorsport Collection to the Circuit de Monaco, the world- famous city circuit on which drivers feverishly put their skills to the test each year at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and where, from 2019, a new Formula E Porsche works team will be at the starting line. Then there’s the 911 GT3 Collection for high performance around the bends of the most beautiful winding tracks. Before we leave, we will pursue our passion for new challenges in the mountains around Monaco, where we will give it our all with the Sport Collection on the golf course and on the Porsche Bike RX. In this issue, we will also introduce you to one of the newest and perhaps most legendary sports cars in Porsche history: the 911 GT3 RS as well as its ancestor, the 911 Monte, which acquired renown as the first 911 to take to the Rallye Monte Carlo. Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride through Monaco, where Porsche past meets Porsche future. The SELECT editorial team 3 On course for success The bustling port, the world-famous hairpin bend at the Grand Hotel, past some of the most expensive properties in the world and through a city tunnel – the Circuit de Monaco is a true challenge for drivers. But it’s not just the level of difficulty that makes this historic city circuit in Monaco’s districts of Monte Carlo and La Condamine so attractive. It’s also the ideal location for a truly special event, which we have showcased in the Porsche racing calendar: the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Monaco. Azure blue water, stately mansions, picturesque spas and well-maintained, almost tropical gardens. If you get the pleasure of enjoying the stunning view along the N98 – which is the route’s official name – behind the wheel of a Porsche, you will get a taste of what awaits you in Monaco: sheer elegance, a high-class lifestyle, and a motorsports atmosphere at every corner. A visit to a world of wealth and speed It’s hard to detect the locals’ enthusiasm for motorsports at first glance. But if you look a little bit closer, you will see signs of the big races everywhere in the city: red and white striped curbs at particularly tight bends, racing posters, motorsports memorabilia in restaurants and, of course, all of the super sports cars on the densely populated streets. • Dress Code Policy 1
COLLEGE DRESS CODE POLICY 1. RATIONALE The College has in place a student dress code, which was implemented after wide consultation with parents, teachers and students. This dress code is vigorously supported by the School Board and has become part of the culture of the school. Parents and students are informed of the requirements of the dress code prior to their child being enrolled. Acceptance of enrolment at Kinross College is an agreement between the school, the parent and the enrolling student, that the student will conform to the College dress code. The College expects all students for all their years of schooling to always be in the correct uniform and adhere to appropriate presentation standards. Why do we have a Dress Code? • Enables the early identification of unauthorised persons on the school site. • Fosters and enhances the public image of the school. • Assists in building a sense of team spirit and community. • Ensures students are safely dressed for specific school activities. • Encourages equity among students, minimising competition to wear popular designer labels. • Assists in preparing students for work with a number of work places requiring a standard of dress and safety codes. Please be aware that only Kinross College Uniform items of clothing are to be worn to school. All items are available from our uniform supplier (detailed below). There are currently 2 styles of uniform with the old one currently being phased out. As of January 2022 students will ONLY be allowed to wear the new uniform. No items of the old school uniform will be accepted after this point.

I am beyond grateful for being presented such opportunities in motorsport throughout the master degree, the sport that I have been a huge fan of my whole life. I was given deeper and wider knowledge of many different fields in sports that bought up inspirational and interesting topics to think and learn from. I want to express my deep and sincere gratitude to my advisor, Professor Harald Klaus Dolles for giving me the opportunity to do my research on the sport that I love the most and supporting me with his invaluable guidelines throughout my research. I would like to thank him for sharing his knowledge and vision with me as I am honored to have had him as my supervisor. I want to express my appreciation towards my family who pushed me to choose and continue my education in a field of study that is interesting to me. I understand taking this step was important and huge especially that I moved to a country that speak a different language than me. Yet, they supported me and value my growth, nevertheless. A special thank you for my sister and nephew who were always there through video calls giving me the emotional support and the drive that I needed to complete this degree.

  • Understanding the Place-Specific Formation Processes of Sustainable Urban Experiments a Mixed Method Comparative Case Study of Formula E
Master’s thesis - master Innovation Sciences Understanding the place-specific formation processes of sustainable urban experiments A mixed method comparative case study of Formula E July 27, 2021 Author: Marius Roeterdink, BSc Student number: 5673127 Contact: [email protected] Supervisor: Dr. J. Hoekman Second reader: Dr. ir. J.C.L Torrens Master’s Thesis – Master Innovation Sciences GEO4-2239X Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University 0 Place-specific formation processes of sustainable urban experiments Abstract Cities are increasingly recognized as frontrunners in the transition to a more sustainable society due to their assembly of technology, resources, population, culture, and economics. This is, amongst others, visible from a global increase in urban actors collaborating to experiment with new sustainable configurations. These so-called sustainable urban experiments, embedded in a broader niche, are not confined to a specific spatial context but will rather emerge in complex ‘place bundles’, forming a global niche. However, the formation of a global niche is interrelated with local experimentation and is thereby locally rooted. A prime example is sustainable motorsports experiment Formula E. Formula E operates on a global scale with numerous multinational companies involved but is set in urban environments and the local regional context arguably influences the formation of such events. In other words, Formula E is a global sustainable urban experiment which is locally embedded. Considerable variation in the way a sustainable urban experiment is formed locally is likely to exist. The objective of this study was to complement strategic niche management and sustainable transitions literature by understanding the specific place-specific factors under which global sustainable urban experiments are formed.

  • A Successful Day for Formula E and Michelin in the Principality of Monaco!
MEDIA INFORMATION 2016/2017 FIA Formula E Championship ePrix of Monaco – 5th round A successful day for Formula E and Michelin in the Principality of Monaco! The second Monaco ePrix took place today in idyllic ideal weather conditions, allowing the crowd of almost 20,000 spectators to enjoy a quality of racing worthy of the Principality’s reputation as a longstanding home of topflight motorsport. Grid order was always going to play a key role around the 1.76km street circuit, as Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi Formula E Team) explained at his team’s press conference on Friday: “It’s never easy to overtake at Monaco so it is essential to qualify in the best possible start position if you want to stand a chance of winning.” Track action kicked off early this morning with a free practice session that was marked by a number of accidents and tangles. As expected, qualifying turned out to be a fiercely-fought affair, with several drivers topping the order before Jean-Eric Vergne (TECHEETAH), Maro Engel (Venturi Formula E Team), Sébastien Buemi (Renault-e.dams), Nelson Piquet Jr (NEXTEV NIO) and Lucas Di Grassi (ABT Schaeffer Audi Sport) reached the final super- pole shootout phase, involving one flying lap each, one at a time. Sébastien Buemi – who topped the championship standings prior to the visit to Monaco on 76 points – was accredited with the best effort (53.313s) and he was joined on the grid’s front row by second-placed Lucas Di Grassi (+0.237s). The Monaco ePrix started at 4pm local time after a star-studded grid walk which included such international celebrities as the British model and actress Naomi Campbell, the president of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) and his wife Michelle Yeoh, another actress.

  • FULLY ELECTRIC FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS to FS1 with MONACO Eprix
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Erik Arneson, FOX Sports Thursday, May 11, 2017 [email protected] FULLY ELECTRIC FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO FS1 WITH MONACO ePRIX Formula E is a ‘Statement Series’ Creating a Platform for the Development of Technologies that Can Benefit the World CHARLOTTE, NC – The fully electric Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Formula E Championship, now in its third season, returns to FS1 on Saturday, May 13 (11:30 AM ET) with versatile motor sports broadcaster Bob Varsha hosting coverage from the Monaco ePrix. After defending Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi got off to a perfect start to the season, winning the championship’s first three events, the points race got a lot tighter and a little more interesting after Lucas Di Grassi’s bold victory in Mexico City trimmed Buemi’s lead to just five points heading into Monaco. The 1.097-mile, 12-turn Monaco ePrix circuit is a shortened version of the familiar Grand Prix course, as the Formula E version takes a hard right at Ste Devote rather than carrying on up the hill to Monte Carlo. From here, drivers run along the marina to the Nouvelle Chicane, where they make the hard right to rejoin the GP layout at the chicane at the exit of the tunnel. The remainder of the circuit follows the traditional route around the Swimming Pool, through Rascasse and Antony Noghes and back to the start/finish straight. Varsha, who will be joined by Martin Haven and Nicki Shields, with analysis from driver Mike Conway, offers insight into where Formula E fits on the motor sports spectrum and what we can look for this weekend from Monaco on FS1: FOX SPORTS: Monaco – like Le Mans, Daytona and Indianapolis, is synonymous with racing, so how important is it for Formula E to win over this city and its racing-knowledgeable fans long term and does racing in Monaco add to interest in Formula E? VARSHA: The Formula E mission is to demonstrate the potential of clean electric power in the form of motorsports entertainment in major cities, where emissions-free mobility is most needed.

  • Presentation 2017
2017 INTRODUCTION Felix Rosenqvist is a Swedish racing driver, competing in the 2016-17 FIA Formula E Championship with Mahindra Racing. He is the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European champion. Felix Rosenqvist is the only driver in the history of Formula 3 to have won each of the accolades that make up the category’s “grand slam”: the European Championship (2015), the Grand Prix de Pau (2014), the Masters of Formula 3 (twice in 2011 and 2013) and the blue- riband Macau Grand Prix (twice in 2014 and 2015). In 2016, Rosenqvist dovetailed race-winning campaigns in the American Indy Lights series and Europe’s Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, while simultaneously racing in the top-level DTM touring car series with Mercedes-AMG. He also conducted a successful test in the Verizon IndyCar Series, America’s leading single-seater championship.
