Capacity expansion in clinker/cement production Executive Summary through upgradation and optimization of Parameters EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1. Proposed Project: Maihar Cement is situated at Sarlanagar, Maihar, Distt. Satna in the State of Madhya Pradesh with licensed production capacity of 5 Million TPA (3 MTPA Clinker & 5 MTPA Cement). Maihar Cement at Sarlanagar Madhya Pradesh, currently operates 2 Units : Unit 1 consists of 2 Kiln lines each producing around 2350 TPD clinker and unit 2 has one kiln producing ~ 4500 TPD clinker whereas present Cement production is 5 Million TPA. It is proposed to increase the clinker production capacity of the plant from 3.0 Million TPA to 4 Million TPA by upgrading Kiln No.1 & Kiln No.2. Study of Seasonal concentration of SPM, RSPM, SO2 and NOX in the ambient air near J.P. cement plant, Rewa (M.P.) Priyanka Rai* and R. M. Mishra School of Environmental Biology, A.P.S. University, Rewa, (M.P.) - India Abstract] This study was undertaken to assess the quality status and seasonal variations of ambient air of pollutants. Results revealed comparatively higher ambient air concentrations of SPM, RSPM, SO2 and NOx during the winter months to be followed by summer and rainy months. According to air quality surveys the levels of average value of Respirable suspended particulate matter, sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen in sampling site are well within prescribed limits, whereas average concentrations of SPM in the ambient air of the village are above the permissible limits. Results revealed maximum contribution of SPM to the ambient air compare to RSPM, SO2 and NOx in Sagauni village during 2009-2010. Key-Words: Ambient air quality, SPM, RSPM, SO2, NOx, J.P.Cement Plant Introduction In recent times there has been significant development It is the major source of particulate matter, SOx, NOx activity in terms of industrialization and urbanization in and CO2 emissions. Significant growth is also observed almost all cities, medium and small towns in India. in the cement industry sector. The main environmental Different industrial activities degrades various issues associated with cement production are emissions environmental components like air, soil, water and to air and energy use.

Sub : Review Meet on 2810512018 on Compliance of Real-time Monitoring Systems. A mechanism of self-monitoring of compliance has been initiated in Madhya Pradesh State following which 17 categories of highly polluting industries have installed real-time monitoring systems (RTMS) as part of compliance of directions. All the target industries were requested to ensure an uninterrupted operation of RTMS with >85% uptime frequency of data. The quality and reliability of data is a pre-requisite, In this context, it is reiterated that for reliable data, a regular calibration is very essential. It is hoped that all the industries are regularl calibrating the RTMS and complying with the desired protocol to meet the basic objective of online real-time monitoring. In order to review the current status of RTMS, a meeting of concerned industries is convened at HQ, M.P. Pollution Control Board to focus on following points : l. Availability of Calibration facility at the industry end. 2. periodic calibration of instrument & automatic entry of calibration data into the system through the software installed at industry end. 3. Availability of Remote calibration facility at each gaseous OCEMS. The above stated points are to be complied in all respect. The industries that are not complying the above stated norms are directed to ensure compliance strictly by 31.05.2018 failing to that may attract punitive action against the industry.
