Tony has also enjoyed global business experience across Asia and Europe; experience in the research, development and implementation of a range of business strategies and plans aligned with quality, safety and benchmarking practices. Tony has signifi cant em- ployee relations experience; together with sound fi nancial acumen and management, particularly in the fi eld of return on investment and customer service. Through out his time in football, Tony has coached extensively through out the sport, including at the state team level. DIRECTORS Chris Nikou Chris Nikou has been involved in football for over 30 years observing and engaging the issues that affect the various stakeholders that comprise football in Victoria. Chris has played both junior and senior football in the state league and been involved at club level as Secretary and President. These regulations are to be implemented in conjunction with the Football Australia Statutes and Regulations, Football SA Competition Rules and Regulations and the Senior Men’s Competition Operating Regulations. In the event of inconsistency between these regulations and any other Football Australia or Football SA regulations, the interpretation will prevail in the following order: i) Football Australia Statutes ii) National Registration Regulations iii) National Disciplinary Regulations iv) Football SA Competition Rules and Regulations and Senior Men’s Operating Regulations v) These Regulations Scope These regulations: i) apply to participating teams, players and officials participating in the Cup Competitions conducted for Under 18s, Reserves and Senior Grades: ii) apply to all Cup Competition Games. Definitions Abandoned Is a fixture which has failed to commence for any reason or did commence but was stopped by the Match Official prior to the game concluding. Away Team Is a team or club not playing the fixture or match at its home ground and / or appears second on the fixture list where a match is conducted at a neutral venue. Club Means an entity affiliated to Football SA for the purpose of playing football in the Competitions. Club Associate/Official Is any person involved with the administration, management or organisation of a Club (whether paid or unpaid), including employees, contractors, directors, representatives and volunteers. Coach Is any person with the required coaching qualifications, registered with Football SA and is appointed to a football team.

    Football, or soccer, is truly a World Game, with an unmatched ability to bring people from different backgrounds together. With attention turning to Brazil for the FIFA World Cup, which starts on 12 June 2014, there is no better time to discover the contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have made to the World Game. Did you know? Harry Williams is the only male Aboriginal player to represent Australia at a World Cup. He joined the Socceroos in 1970 and later played in the 1974 World Cup in Germany.1 In 2008, Jade North became the first Aboriginal player to captain the Socceroos. He has a tattoo with his tribal name, “Biripi”, on his left arm and recently played in the 2014 A-league grand final.2 Lydia Williams and Kyah Simon are the first two Aboriginal women to play together in a World Cup. Lydia played in the 2007 and 2011 World Cups, and Kyah played in 2011.3 In 2011 Kyah became the first Aboriginal Australian to score a goal in a World Cup. Charlie Perkins was offered a contract to play soccer for Manchester United before becoming the first Aboriginal person to graduate from the University of Sydney. It’s been nice to have the time to get back into the swing of things and rest players we needed to rest following a busy start to the season. Fortunately, we only spent three days in self quarantine after flying home from our Round 3 clash in Brisbane and I was really impressed with the way the playing group responded to the prospect of 14 days in isolation. Their work ethic was great and they made sure to keep connected as a team. In the days that followed, we have been able to focus on our home clash against Perth Glory. Perth had a hard time in the pre-season with the state’s COVID-19 restrictions but have now had two tough games, in hot conditions, against the in-form Adelaide side. I anticipate Perth will make it hard for us and we need to be prepared, with players such as Caitlin Doeglas and Hana Lowry, who can punish us if we’re not good defensively. We’re determined to keep our winning record at Viking Park and with the surround sound of the fans acting as our 12th player, they’ll be entering tough territory.
