At the meeting, the representatives from the PetroVietnam briefly updated the provincial leaders on the project of Ca Voi Xanh natural gas field, 100km off the Vietnam’s central coast, managed by Exxon Mobil (United States). Natural gas in this field is now available to exploit and put in use, meeting the energy demand in the country. The project’s operation will contribute to the nation’s energy security, local economic growth and job opportunities for people in the region. The gas processing plant will be built on 1,000ha in Tam Quang commune, Nui Impressive ancient Thanh district, Quang Nam province. The plant will annually receive 10 billion houses in Hoi An cubic metres of natural gas from the Ca Voi Xanh offshore natural gas field.
