Around 70% organic and 30% nonorganic (in average) Household waste still the biggest contributor No segregation in place Waste Bank In every city and regency waste bank are available, using the community self driven system. In City of Cimahi and Malang, the waste bank already give the benefits to community Biogas in Practice: Bio Gas production and usage are still low Challenges Community participation: Need efforts to increase the community willingness and knowledge on waste segregation, organizing, transfer and processing at landfill. Usage of conventional method: Waste transfer from waste resource to landfill still use the method door to door collection, send to temporary landfill (collecting area) within the residential and forward to Landfill. Most cities and regencies use the open dumping as method of final disposal Challenges Financial limitation: Not all of city or regency local government allocate enough fund for solid waste management. Wakatobi Regency, City of Cimahi and City of Malang are exceptional locations since the local government eager to paying a tipping fee for processing waste on a waste treatment plant. Community pay fee's on monthly/daily basis (charging fees/amount depends on each location) A few cities and regency already receive the support on waste management at their area's from other institution/international organization : City of Manado, City of Jambi, City of Jogjakarta, City of Malang, City of Cimahi, Wakatobi Regency,. UCLG ASPAC puts a great emphasis in promoting twinning and partnership between local governments and peoples trough the exchange and transfer of success stories in good governance. Project DELGOSEA was, therefore, launched to realize this objective within Southeast Asia.
