Three Crosses | SA4 3NU SUMMER HOUSE Summer House 4 Dunvant Road | Three Crosses | SA4 3NU SUMMER HOUSE Though we already lived in the village, it was the terrific views and privacy which prompted us to move to Summer House,” say the current owners of this fabulous family home set on the edge of the sought after Gower village of Three Crosses. “The expansive vistas of surrounding fields, farms and villages to every aspect are intoxicating, with the Devonshire coast and mountains visible beyond.” The gardens too are very picturesque, now being quite well established with mature trees and shrubs bordering the lawns. “The garden is always abloom with plenty of colour, whatever the season,” say the owners, “the different months showcasing varying hues as the plants come into flower. The lavender to the rear of the house has been wonderfully fragrant of late, while the hydrangea are particularly vibrant at this time of year. The annual blossom and spring flowers are beautiful, too, giving a glimpse of the delights of the year to come.” As well as beauty, the location also boasts convenience, being within walking distance of all the village has to offer and close to Swansea for an expansive range of amenities. “Three Crosses is an active, thriving village,” say the owners, “with a friendly community and regular events on the village green. We shall greatly miss our neighbours in the village, many of whom have become dear friends over the decades. There are excellent schools in the local area, as well as a golf club, hospitals and shopping within easy reach. The motorway is easily accessible for travel further afield.” “The house and spacious grounds have been ideal for raising children, providing us with a happy family home which feels bright and airy.” “This has been our home for a long time, and we have greatly enjoyed living and bringing up our family here.” “The views are truly marvellous in every direction. You can even see the Devonshire hills on a clear day.” “The large lounge is perfect for celebrations and parties, being a spacious family room which is very cosy with its slate fireplace. Everyone loves this room, particularly at Christmas time.” Summer House is a superb family home set among idyllic countryside and beautiful gardens. Local Fairwood airport can offer occasional sights of small aircraft in the distance taking off and landing just beyond the hills, and on a clear day you can witness the skies being peppered with skydivers. The home has stunning views towards the Devonshire coastline, Bristol Channel and the rural scenery of fields scattered with sheep, combined with the close proximity to Swansea explain why Summer House has The property is accessed via metal gates set among impressive Cornish slate walls, with a long sweeping been the perfect family home for many years. driveway leading to the front of the house and the garage where you have ample parking for at least 4/5 cars. Swansea Welsh Unitary Council Election Results 1995-2012 Colin Rallings and Michael Thrasher The Elections Centre Plymouth University The information contained in this report has been obtained from a number of sources. Election results from the immediate post-reorganisation period were painstakingly collected by Alan Willis largely, although not exclusively, from local newspaper reports. From the mid- 1980s onwards the results have been obtained from each local authority by the Elections Centre. The data are stored in a database designed by Lawrence Ware and maintained by Brian Cheal and others at Plymouth University. Despite our best efforts some information remains elusive whilst we accept that some errors are likely to remain. Notice of any mistakes should be sent to [email protected]. The results sequence can be kept up to date by purchasing copies of the annual Local Elections Handbook, details of which can be obtained by contacting the email address above. Front cover: the graph shows the distribution of percentage vote shares over the period covered by the results. The lines reflect the colours traditionally used by the three main parties. The grey line is the share obtained by Independent candidates while the purple line groups together the vote shares for all other parties. Rear cover: the top graph shows the percentage share of council seats for the main parties as well as those won by Independents and other parties. The lines take account of any by- election changes (but not those resulting from elected councillors switching party allegiance) as well as the transfers of seats during the main round of local election.

INTRODUCTION 1.1 We the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales (the Commission) have completed the first stage of the review of community boundaries in the City and County of Swansea as directed by the Minister for Social Justice and Local Government in his Direction to us dated 19 December 2007 (Appendix A). 1.2 The purpose of the review is to consider whether, in the interests of effective and convenient local government, the Commission should propose changes to the present community boundaries. The review is being conducted under the provisions of Section 56(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 (the Act). 1.3 Section 60 of the Act lays down procedural guidelines, which are to be followed in carrying out a review. In line with that guidance we wrote on 9 January 2008 to all of the Community Councils in the City and County of Swansea, the Member of Parliament for the local constituency, the Assembly Members for the area and other interested parties to inform them of our intention to conduct the review and to request their preliminary views.
