EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL 2012 Presents ADAM HILLS Mess Around Assembly Hall: Rainy Hall 2nd – 19 th August at 19.40 ‘Hills is astonishingly good at what he does’ --- Chortle 'Stand up so effortlessly brilliant you wonder why some comedians even get out of bed' ––– The Guardian 'Hills is comedy sunshine and its rather nice to bask in his glow.' ––– The Scotsman In 2010 Adam based his Edinburgh show around the audience, made a stuffed toy a hero, and raised cash for the Sick Kids. He's back to do it all again. Everyone’s favourite Antipodean comedian and the nicest man in comedy (**fact**), 2012 Logie Most Popular Presenter award-winner and triple Perrier Nominee Adam Hills returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August with his critically acclaimed show Mess Around. Adam will be performing at the AssemblyAssembly Hall at 7.40pm for a limited run only from 333rdrdrd ––– 191919 ththth August. A sign interpreter will also be joining Adam on stage every Sunday evening. Mess Around sees Adam throw any script out of the window and devote his entire show to improvised fun with his audience. Anything can happen on stage ... and it often does! Mess Around shows Adam at his spontaneous best, feeding off stories taken from the audience with a theme which evolves throughout the show’s run. No script, no plan, no idea. During its sold out 2010 Edinburgh run, Mess Around saw Adam hold a staged wedding with a member of the audience; raise over £8,000 for a children’s hospital in an impromptu charity drive with the aid of ‘Honker’ (a soft toy gift from an audience member during his first show); and enlist the help of comedian friends to hold a charity auction involving Jason Byrne’s underpants and plenty of chaos.

  • Full Comedy Line up Announced for Hightide Walthamstow
PRESS RELEASE IMAGES CAN BE DOWNLOAD HERE Twitter/ Facebook / Instagram / website FULL COMEDY LINE UP ANNOUNCED FOR HIGHTIDE WALTHAMSTOW FESTIVAL OF NEW WRITING, COMEDY, TALKS, CABARET AND FAMILY SHOWS RUN IN WALTHAMSTOW 26 SEPTEMBER – 8 OCTOBER HighTide have announced the full comedy lineup for the London leg of the festival which arrives in Walthamstow for the very first time tomorrow. Bringing a diverse mix of comedians, many of whom make their London debut fresh from acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, the festival is set to open on Tuesday 26th September and runs until Sunday 8th October. The full line up, more details of which are below, includes: Andrew Maxwell, Adam Kay, Jayde Adams, Bilal Zafar, Phil Wang, Nathan Caton & Nina Benjamin with MC Susan Murry, Dane Baptiste, Suzi Ruffell, Tez Ilyas and late night comedy from London Hughes, MC Pierre, Lou Sanders and Emma Sidi. The Suffolk festival, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016, has developed a winning formula of finding, nurturing and showcasing the country’s best new playwrights at its home in Aldeburgh over the last decade. The transfer to East London’s Walthamstow this year is a new development for the organization who will bring a brand new temporary theatre space in partnership with Waltham Forest Council. ‘The Mix’ will come to London’s Walthamstow Town Centre for 12 days following the Aldeburgh season, bringing an eclectic arts programme to an area of London which currently has no mid to large scale theatre spaces and where there are consequently relatively low levels of engagement with theatre.
