We know, however, that for some communities, this remains more of an aspiration rather than a reality. Kilcooley Community Forum Economic disadvantage plays havoc with a host of Community Representative wellbeing measures, from community capacity and social capital, to the individual health and wellbeing of Kilcooley Neighbourhood of the residents. It is for this reason that the Kilcooley Partnership Neighbourhood Partnership has refreshed the original Kilcooley Neighbourhood Action Plan. While significant Gail Malmo progress has been made, much more needs to be Vice Chair of done, and the refreshed Action Plan 2016-2018 lays Kilcooley the foundation for this work. Neighbourhood By undertaking the actions identified, and continuing Partnership to work collaboratively for the good of the community, we will be, in 2018, that much closer to a vibrant, strong, and healthy Kilcooley estate. The Kilcooley Neighbourhood Partnership (KNP) continually strives to engage in effective working partnerships with the key stakeholders from all relevant sectors to deliver the priorities outlined in the Kilcooley Vision and Action Plan 2016-2018. The Partnership constantly reviews the needs of the area and seeks to take forward new and exciting initiatives that will improve the well-being and quality of life for residents. Three new projects have been developed under the Strategic Objectives of Social and Physical Renewal. An overview of these projects are: • Speech and Language – a programme to provide a series of interventions to understand and improve the language skills of pupils within Kilcooley. • Connex-ions Data base and Web Application – created to measure the impact of a range of projects in terms of social, community economic and environmental development with a specific focus on early intervention and educational under-achievement. • The development of a Parent and Child Centre – to increase the opportunities and facilities for engagement with parents, children and the wider community within Kilcooley. March 2017 8 Kilcooley Vision & Action Plan 2016-2018 The KNP comprises of members from the community, voluntary and statutory sectors that act in an advisory capacity to DfC on the issues affecting the area. It does so by making a long-term commitment to work in partnership with communities to identify and prioritise needs and co-ordinate interventions designed to address the underlying causes of poverty. To tackle the complex, multi-dimensional nature of deprivation in an integrated way, the NRP has four interlinking strategic objectives, namely, economic, physical, community and social renewal. John Boyle O'Reilly. PREFACE We had at first intended that this should be a book without a preface, and indeed it needs none, for it speaks in no uncer- tain tones for itself; but on reconsideration we decided that it would be more seemly to give a short explanation of our aim, our motives, and our methods. As a result of innumerable inquiries which have come to us during our experience as educators, we have been forced to the conclusion that the performances of the Irish race in many fields of endeavor are entirely unknown to most people, and that even to the elect they are not nearly so well known as they deserve to be. Hence there came to us the thought of placing on record, in an accessible, comprehensive, and permanent form, an outline of the whole range of Irish achievement dur- ing the last two thousand years.

  • Alphabetical Index to Privately Deposited Records
ALPHABETICAL INDEX TO PRIVATELY DEPOSITED RECORDS December 2007 Introduction Under the Public Records Act (Northern Ireland) the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) is permitted to accept into its care any record that it deems worthy of preservation, whether or not that record was generated by a Government Department or a Non-Departmental Public Body. This permission allows PRONI to accept records from private individuals, from businesses, charities, social and sporting organisations, religious bodies and political parties. All records donated are evaluated for their historical value and, if of sufficient importance, PRONI is happy to accept them, either as an outright gift, or as a long- term loan. Most of these records can be opened to the public immediately after they have been catalogued but, as in some cases the depositors retain control over access to their papers, not all privately deposited archives are open to the public. If you wish to access information in an archive which is closed to the public, you can make a request via the PRONI Records Management, Cataloguing and Access Team. ALPHABETICAL INDEX TO 'D', 'T' AND 'MIC' LISTS PLEASE NOTE: This alphabetical index has been produced from three numerical indexes of lists and not from the lists themselves. In order to produce a shorter and more compact index, lists with identical, or near-identical, titles have been grouped together – see, for example, the entry for Abercorn below. Users are warned that in some cases the groups of references may relate to more than one family with the same name. Similarly, because the titles of some of the earlier lists are inconsistent, uninformative or even misleading, it is possible that many such connections have not been made.
