Antonio Callaway: With Corey Coleman Gone, Rookie WR Has Chance To Shine Author : Robert D. Cobb With the recent trade of former first round bust in Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills, rookie WR Antonio Callaway could be the biggest beneficiary. Callaway, a 5'11, 200-pound burner out of the University of Florida, was once widely projected as perhaps the first or second wideout to be taken in the 2018 NFL Draft, before off the field issues crippled his potential draft stock. During his freshman and sophomore seasons in Gainesville, the Miami, FL native caught 89 passes for 1,399 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 15.7 yards per catch. Clearly, the big play potential of Callaway is there. And new Browns GM, John Dorsey--who has had a successful track record of taking troubled players--decided to make the former Gator his latest gamble. Per reports from Browns training camp, Callaway has been working a lot of first-team reps out of the "X" receiver position and per ProFootballTalk, has been inserted into the starting lineup opposite Jarvis Landry. 1 / 2 While Josh Gordon is out and set to return soon, don't be shocked if Callaway becomes part of three-WR sets used by the Browns this coming season. If all the reports are true and that Callaway--who has spent the off-season training with All-Pro Pittsburgh Steelers WR, Antonio Brown--in that he is already running routes like a seasoned vet and making tremendous catches in practice, then Cleveland may have unearthed a real later draft day gem. -
