Owner, Melissa Scoppettone, took over the family business in 2005 and immediately saw a market for fashionable, optical quality reading glasses at an affordable price. I Heart Eyewear was born after Melissa realized the market was much larger than just optical retailers. Melissa grew up in the eyeglass case business and the opportunity to continue her family’s legacy was a dream come true. Our goal is to provide our customers with on trend, optical quality reading glasses and eyewear accessories without a high price tag. We look forward to working with you! Why buy I Heart Eyewear? Optical Quality, Aspheric Lenses - Aspheric lenses eliminate distortion and enhance the vision of the wearer as well as the appearance of the lenses. The magnification remains constant across the lens and the lenses have a slimmer profile than traditional lenses. Anti-Reflective Coating - Our lenses feature AR, or anti-reflective, coating which reduces glare and eye strain. Anti-Scratch Coating - A scratch resistant coating is applied to our lenses to reduce the likelihood that the lenses will become scratched easily with everyday usage. Spring Hinges - Spring hinges greatly enhance the comfort and durability of our frames. They allow the frames to open wider and provide a better fit. Wide Power Range - Most of our reading glasses are available from +0.75 to +3.00 in quarter powers and +3.50, +4.00. Some of our styles are also offered in higher powers of +4.50 to +6.00 - styles include Joey (p.18), Ainsley (p.10), Spruce and Apple (p.11) readers and the Finley and Reed (p.26) neck hanging sun readers. Matching Cases - Our reading glasses and reading/bifocal sunglasses are paired with a matching case to store them in when not in use. Our sunglasses are paired with a drawstring bag. The cases are also an excellent merchandising tool and look great when displayed behind our readers in displays such as our 28pc and 64pc rotating counter and floor displays. UVA/UVB Protection - Maximum UVA/UVB protection is a standard feature of our sunglasses and reading/ bifocal sunglasses. You can be sure your eyes will be fully protected when wearing our sunglasses. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that the information and work practices contained herein are effectively communicated and followed. 12.1.3 DEFINITIONS Abrasive Wheel (Wheel) means a cutting tool that consists of abrasive grains held together by a bonding material. Blotter means a flat disc of compressible material that cushions the area of a grinding wheel coming in contact with a flange. Concrete Sawing means the cutting or slotting of materials such as concrete or asphalt where the sawing machine rides upon the surface being sawed. Flange means a collar, disc, or plate between which abrasive wheels are mounted. Guard means an enclosure that is designed to restrain pieces of abrasive wheel and protect the employee if the wheel breaks. Mounted Wheels means various shaped abrasive wheels not more than 2 inches in diameter and mounted on plain steel mandrel. Portable Grinding means a grinding operation where the machine is designed to be hand held and may be easily moved from one location to another. Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) means the number of complete turns that a grinding wheel makes in one minute. 12.1.4 RESPONSIBILITIES 12.1.4.1 Management • Instruct employees in the safe operation of grinders prior to use.
