Sunday, January 26, 2020 – Information Session – 10:30 A.M. - Noon Thursday, January 30, 2020- Information Session – 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Items needed for registration: ! Birth Certificate. ! Baptismal Certificate. ! Name and Address of any previous school (s) attended. ! A check for $200 to cover the non-refundable Registration/Book Fee. No registration is complete until fees and necessary documents are received. Registration/Book Fee of $200 due at time of registration. This fee is non-refundable. The first child’s registration/book fee is $200. The non-refundable fee for each additional child registered is $175. As part of the tuition contract, 15 service hours per family is requested. Families are also asked to participate in the grocery certificate-purchasing program, averaging $250. per month over the school year. General Information about St. Mary Catholic School: St. Mary is an Archdiocese of Denver parochial school (pre-K through 8th grade) under the direction of the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary (DCJM), a religious order originally from Spain, dedicated to the service of families, inspired by St. John Paul II and St. Ignatius of Loyola. Appointed by the Archdiocese of Denver to serve at St. Mary, the DCJM want to share the gifts they have received as a religious order to continue to make more beautiful the work of St. Mary parish and school. St. Mary is a Catholic school providing education in Preschool through 8th Grade. Both traditional and special curricula are offered: • Core content classes in grades K-8 (Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) • Singapore Math K – 5 • Basic Math & Pre-Algebra – 6th Grade • Pre-Algebra & Algebra - 7th Grade • Algebra & Geometry- 8th Grade • Computers in all classrooms. • Art, Music and Physical Education • Technology classes in grades K - 8. • Spanish in grades K - 8. • Archdiocesan Art Competition, Speech Team, Student Council, Academic Decathlon and a full range of athletic programs. • After school programs include: Science Club, Little Flowers and American Heritage Girls, Boy Scouts, Jr. First Lego Team (K-3) and First Lego League (4-8), Choir, Orchestra & Trail Life. St. Mary is an Archdiocese of Denver parochial school steeped in Catholic values and tradition. Children attend Mass weekly and older students receive the sacrament of Reconciliation at least 4 times a year. The entire student body attends all School Masses on Holy Days and special occasions. Students participate in daily Religion classes, liturgies and service projects. Sacramental preparation is done in conjunction with the parish and involves parental participation. Service provided from 6:45 A.M. to 7:50 A.M. and again 3:00 P.M. to 6 P.M. Student Population: 473 (2019-2020) Class Size: 20 Students per class in 3 & 4-Year-Old Preschool Programs 24 Students per class in kindergarten / 25 students per class in first grade 26 Students per class in grades 2 - 8 Once your child is enrolled at St. Mary Catholic School, a spot is reserved for him/her for the following year. Younger siblings will be able to register along with current students. Pre-K Programs: 3 & 4-Year-Old Preschool Program Block Schedule Determine the times you would like your child to attend each week. Find the option that will meet your needs. Please note: Our core subjects are taught in the morning. Multi student discounts apply. Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 7-10 Blocks $6,500 4-6 Blocks $5,000 1-3 Blocks $3,500 Kindergarten Program: There are 2 options for our kindergarten program: A. Half day, every day 8:00 A.M. to Noon. Tuition for this kindergarten is 60% of the full tuition. B. All day every day 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. New concepts and academic curricula are taught in the morning session. The afternoon session is an enrichment and enhancement of the concepts taught in the morning. Kindergarten Registrants must be five (5) years old on or before October 1, 2020, to enter as kindergarten students in the 2020 - 2021 school year. Students in K-8 dress in uniforms. Uniforms and Mass uniforms may be purchased at Dennis Uniform, located at 8600 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, CO 80124 – 303-738-2255. St. Mary has an online hot lunch program allowing parents/students to purchase lunch up to two days in advance. Children may purchase milk at a nominal cost. Hours of the school day: 8:00 A.M. - 3 P.M. for All Day K & Grades 1 - 8 8:00 A.M. to Noon for 1/2 day Kindergarten New Family Enrollment Information Student enrollment priorities are as follows: 1. Siblings of current students. 2. Parishioners of St. Mary Catholic Church. 3. Members of other Catholic Parishes, which are part of the Archdiocese of Denver. 4. Catholics transferring into the Denver metro area whose children are currently enrolled in a Catholic School or whose children have attended a Catholic school within the last calendar year and have a letter of recommendation from that school principal and a letter of good standing from their pastor. Decisions on acceptance in this category are at the discretion of the principal. Any openings occurring after February 1st may be reserved for persons in this category. 5. Catholics unaffiliated with a parish or non-Catholics. Waiting Lists are compiled at the time of registration using the categories above. On February 1st all waiting lists expire. Families on the waiting list prior to February 1st cannot request notification of openings after February 1st. Openings after February 1st are offered to the families in “Category 4” at the discretion of the principal. The principal reserves the right to override these categories for special circumstances. Admissions Screening. All vacancies may require screening/testing before formal acceptance. Students with identified special learning needs are enrolled with probationary status. If it is determined that St. Mary School cannot meet their academic needs, they will be asked to withdraw. Transfer students are admitted on a probationary status for the first trimester of their enrollment. Financial Aid is available only to families who are registered members in good standing of St. Mary Parish. Determination of standing is done by the Parish Business Office (303-798-8506) in conjunction with the Pastor. Only families receiving financial aid are eligible for financial assistance with school supplies. Determination of eligibility for the latter is determined by the principal. Notice of Student Non-Discrimination Policy The Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Denver, under the jurisdiction of Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila, S.T.L. and at the direction of the Superintendent, state that all of their Catholic schools admit students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the schools. Furthermore, Archdiocesan schools admit handicapped students in accord with the policy on Admissions in the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools Administrator’s Manual. These schools do not discriminate on the basis of race, age, handicap, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of their educational policies, employment practices, scholarship and loan programs, or athletic or other school-administered programs The elementary and secondary Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Denver, under the jurisdiction of, and at the direction of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, attests that none of their Catholic schools discriminates on the basis of sex in its admissions policies, treatment of students or its employment practices. The Pastor, on behalf of the Ordinary, assumes responsibility for both the administrative and spiritual leadership of the parish Catholic school. The principal is responsible for the ordinary operation of the school as specified in the principal contract and for the Archdiocese policies and directives. Financial Commitment: Tuition costs vary based on a number of factors: • Catholic Affiliated* or Non-Affiliated/Non-Catholic. • Number of children enrolled. • Actual educational costs are not fully covered by tuition and are subsidized by St. Mary Parish. *”Catholic Affiliated” definition. Please call the School Office for specific information as to what constitutes a “Catholic Affiliated” contract. Tuition payment options: St. Mary Catholic School has partnered with FACTS Management, a tuition management company. FACTS Management Company manages the collection of tuition and other school fees. Tuition payments may be paid in full, bi-annually or monthly. Monthly payments are available through personal banking account direct debit program or by mail.Mission Statement St. Mary School is a Catholic Learning community, which actively models the full character of Christ.
