ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS  Passed B,Sc in Zoology Honours in 1991 from Calcutta University with 59.4%.  Passed M.Sc in Zoology in 1994 from Kalyani University with 63.6%.  Awarded Ph.D in Zoology from Kalyani University in 2003  Qualified the Government of India registered Post-graduate diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Bhavan’s College of Communication and Management, Calcutta and has stood first in the examination. Qualified the Viva - Voce for Labour Welfare Officer constitute by the Labour Department, Government of .  Completed a certificate course on Basic Computer Applications from University of Kalyani in 2000

MAJOR AREAS OF RESEARCH Has been engaged in diverse activities in the fields of academic, training, extension and research activities towards protection of environment, uplift of rural economy etc. for nearly 5years. Conducted research programmes on  Fertilizer-microbial interactions and its effect on fish growth  toxicity effects of insecticides, heavy metals on nutrient cycling bacteria  microbial responses to excess nitrate contamination in fish ponds  long term residual effects of chemical and organic fertilizers  influence of carbon-nitrogen-phosphorus ratio of input fertlizers as compared with that of pond water using biogeochemical cycling bacteria as indices on the water nutrient status  reclamation efficiency of domestic sewage-fed fish ponds using biogeochemical cycling bacteria as indices  Eco-engineering approaches for nutrient recovery from various wastes and their potentials for improvement of rural economy  Efficacy of constructed wetlands in the removal of pathogens in wastewater fed aquaculture.  Energy flow and ecosystem analysis of domestic wastewater aquaculture system.  Eco-tech approaches towards reclamation of eutrophic waters using Hydroponics (as raft system) and other biological agents.  Use of human urine in aquaculture.  Effect of global warming and climate change on Indian Aquaculture  Microalgae-bacteria complex for carbon sequestration in wastewater ponds with possibility of biomass production for economic purpose.

POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH Research and extension activity including lab to land technology transfer programme  Delivered a lecture to fish farmers of South Parganas district in an awareness programme on Upliftment of Rural Economy Through Aquaculture organized by International Centre of Ecological Engineering, University of Kalyani, Kalyani.in 2000.  Delivered lecture to SC/ST youths on Application of vermicomposting in fish culture in an integrated biosystem complex in DST, Govt. of India sponsored training programme for Capacity building of youths belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in West Bengal organized by International Centre of Ecological Engineering, University of Kalyani, Kalyani on April 4, 2005.  Delivered lectures on Wastewater Aquaculture and Eco-sanitation in the Training Programme of 10 days training programme for fish farmers in December, 2007 organized by International Centre of Ecological Engineering, University of Kalyani, Kalyani.  Two years’ experience as Project Scientist in the project entitled “MAPPING OF S&T NEEDS- Identification and GIS Based Documentation For Location specific Problems and Need for Science & Technology Intervention” funded by Department of Science and Technology, GoI. The study involves identification of S&T related problems and facilitating the technological intervention in various scientific sectors like agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, sericulture, animal husbandry, forestry, environment etc. in different districts of West Bengal at block level and district at mouza level. For effective technology transfer, the database have been analysed in GIS platform with inbuilt query system from 2003-2005  Worked as Project Fellow in Kolkata Urban Services for Poor, Govt. of India sponsored project at Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, from 2006-2008.  Worked as Senior Research Fellow in the DST, Govt. of India sponsored project entitled Implementation oriented parcel-wise database creation on S&T needs for development of fishery and sericulture sectors in most backward villages, Nadia and Murshidabad districts, West Bengal, India at West Bengal State Council of Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of West Bengal, Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake for a period of 2008- 2010.  Worked as Project Fellow in the Project entitled Capacity Building for eco-sanitation in India funded by European Commission in International Centre of Ecological Engineering, University of Kalyani, Kalyani, 2007.

SEMINAR/CONFERENCE/LECTURE/WORKSHOP ORGANIZED  Was a member of the organizing committee of a workshop-cum-awareness programme on Sericulure at Rasulpur Gram Panchayat office at Saidpur, Nabagram Block was organized on February 22, 2009. The farmers discussed their different problems about sericulture practices which were addressed by the experts.  Was a member of the organizing committee an interactive workshop on development of Fishery sector and verification of collected plot level data was held on 2nd July, 2010 at Rahamatpur-Goas Gram Panchayat Office, Karimpur-II Block. The fish farmers discussed their ground level practical problems of fish culture with the experts who suggested a number of field level applied technologies and means for better beel management for the benefits of the farmers.
