This is part of what has kept nanotechnology specialist Dr. Angelique Johnson, CEO of MEMStim LLC, in Louisville. Using microfabrication, MEMStim manufactures low-cost, high-performance, implantable neurostimulators. Johnson’s company currently produces cochlear implants, but MEMStim is still in the research and development phase as the company works to perfect its manufacturing process, she said.
