A few more candidates have filed for election in the upcoming Primary Elec- tion in August. So far, a race has developed for the Green River City Council Ward I seat. Councilman Tom Murphy has filed for re-election and faces challenger Sherry Bushman. If the two remain the only candidates for the position, both will move on to the General Election in November regardless of the results. Should one or more people file for can- didacy in the ward, the two candidates with the most votes will move on to the November election. Robert Berg, the current councilman representing Ward III, has also filed for re-election. He is currently unopposed in that re-election bid. As of press time, there are still three Republicans seeking election to the Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners. Incumbent Lauren Schoenfeld, along with Mary Thoman and Mark Peterson have filed for elec- tion. Two seats on the county commission- ers’ board are up for election this year, which will result in only two Republi- cans moving forward after the Primary Election.
