Ultra Start Location Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, DE6 1DR – look out for our yellow event signs near to the venue. click for a map

Parking If you are parking for the day there is a large P&D car park adjacent to the Leisure Centre; there is unlimited on- street parking nearby (the best spot is on Mayfield Road – see the map link above).

Transport For those who have paid for bus transport from Hope back to Ashbourne one of our helpers (Katy) will be there from 5.00am to ‘check you in’ (NB the bus leaves at 5.15am PROMPT from Hope – we’re sorry but if you’re not there on time the bus will have to go without you.)

Registration Opens at 6:30am and closes at 7.15am.

At registration you will be provided with a SPORTident timing chip ‘dibber’ plus a numbered wrist band (the number will be your race number for the day which marshals will ask you for en-route as a safety check) which you MUST use at the start and finish and at the three marshalled feed station/control points en-route. Failure to ‘dib’ in any of these marshalled timing boxes will mean you will not be classed as a finisher on the event. At registration you will also be given your two x A3 route maps which include emergency numbers in case of problems. Final copies of the route maps and GPS tracks can be seen on our website.

Equipment/weather Details of the minimum compulsory kit required can be found here by scrolling down this page - it’s now feeling very Autumnal so we will be very strict on kit i.e. come properly prepared! Keep a check on the ongoing weather prior to the event here http://www.mwis.org.uk/english-welsh-forecast/PD/ Starts The start is just outside registration. You can start anytime between 7:00am – 7.30am. Navigation/Course signage The Limestone Way is pretty well signed throughout in addition we have put out some of our own yellow/blue arrows. See below for the type of signage you will be ‘encountering’ en-route. One thing to mention is that you will definitely need to concentrate on your navigation/route finding/sign ‘spotting’ - if for any reason you ‘run out’ of LW signs/course arrows etc then it is possible you have gone off the course – PLEASE DO NOT run on blindly hoping to find more signs or arrows as you will undoubtedly get yourself even more lost. Backtrack to where you last saw a sign/arrow as well as checking the provided map for guidance. Cut off times en-route There are cut off times at the three marshalled checkpoints Bonsall 10:30am 1:00pm 3:00pm and these are detailed on the event maps. If you miss the cut off and the checkpoint is closed/gone by the time you get there then you will have to retire. If you do have to retire remember **THE GOLDEN RULE** is that you MUST REPORT BACK TO THE ORGANISERS EITHER BY PHONE (NUMBERS ON BACK OF MAPS) OR AT A CHECKPOINT OR AT THE FINISH. If you are injured or have an accident then we may be able to pick you up, again contact one of the numbers on the back of the maps. At checkpoints/feed-stations there will be water/juice, energy gels, cake, bananas and biscuits – hot drinks will be available at the later checkpoints – overall though you should ensure that you are as self sufficient as possible for the duration of the event as regards your own fluid and food.

Close all gates/run ‘responsibly’ **IMPORTANT** Please close all gates and run ‘responsibly’. Obtaining permission for future events of this nature totally depend on you behaving! Dogs **IMPORTANT** Dogs MUST be on a lead at all times. Finish After you finish please go to the registration desk within Hope Sports Club to download your timing chip – the finish closes at 5.00pm. A meal for all runners plus tea, coffee and juice will be available at the finish. Showers and changing facilities are also available. Prize Giving This will be at about 3:00pm

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
