PIDGEONs of Colaton Raleigh, Devon James Pidgeon travelled 10 miles from Awliscombe to Colaton Raleigh, where he married Mary Row in 1792. James was the son of John Pidgeon and Elizabeth Clapp of Awliscombe - see the Pidgeons of Awliscombe family tree. After the wedding, James and Mary first lived about 4 miles away at Aylesbeare, but by the 1820s, the family had returned to Colaton Raleigh where most continued to live throughout the 19th century .
