This individual will report to the Head and Assistant Head Groundskeeper and be responsible for assisting in the upkeep of fields and grounds at the Orioles Spring Training facility in Sarasota, Florida, including Ed Smith Stadium and Twin Lakes Park. Events include Major League and Minor League Spring Training, Gulf Coast League baseball, and other community events. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with an exceptional work ethic and be able to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Extended workweeks expected during Spring Training months. Requirements: Minimum of one year experience maintaining baseball fields, preferred but not required Ability to operate appropriate equipment in a safe and proper manner Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor Team player - working effectively with fellow employees Essential Duties: Perform general baseball field maintenance; including, but not limited to, mound and home plate repair, painting, warning track maintenance, batting practice set-up/tear-down and tarp pulling Perform turf grass management; including, but not limited to, mowing, edging, sodding, aerating, spraying, topdressing, irrigation repairs, as well as assisting with fertilizer and pest control applications.
