ACAW highlight the broad spectrum of artworks produced by Asian contemporary artists working in their home countries and abroad. Plans for ACAW 2009 are to once again spotlight the artists through a specially organized program entitled: “Open Portfolios”, a series of conversations, project presentations, and screenings by emerging and estab- lished artists at select participating venues. ACAW Director Leeza Ahmady, will work closely with the ACAC (the organizing committee for ACAW) to review nominations by experts in the field and to select 15 to 20 finalists to present their works in an informal social setting across participating venues open to curators, critics, press, collectors, and the general public.
