Briefly explain some main categories of pests, but place more emphasis on references and ID resources: Books, posters, websites, Oklahoma collections?* - Sanitation. Depriving pests of food, harborage, and environmental conditions they need; scheduling sanitation to break life cycles. Good warehouse management tie-in. Jerry Heath - Inspection. Routine scouting for pest activity and conducive conditions for early intervention and correction. - Trapping / Monitoring. Trapping certain pests for control (rodents) and others for population monitoring. Always counting and analyzing. (more in-depth in another presentation). - Physical controls, Exclusion, Design - Pesticide use. Ideally small in the big picture, but often a major tactic if other tactics are less than ideal. Many types, formulations, methods of application & toxicological characteristics.

Concentration, equilibration, exposure time, temperature; also sealing adequately to hold gas adequately, safely aerating. Variety of fumigations practiced around the world.
