The cooperative model forming the ethos behind the business has enabled the company to take advantage of a wide range of skill sets and experience, extensive networks within Aboriginal community groups and land councils, and has given the company the necessary experience and the capacity to service client’s needs throughout the state of Western Australia. Since its inception the company has submitted in excess of 250 Aboriginal heritage assessment survey reports, a multitude of heritage management plans, site recording forms and section 18 consent notices to the Department of Aboriginal Affairs in line with the legislative requirements under the Aboriginal Heritage Act (1972). Reports produced by Brad Goode and Associates Pty Ltd have consistently met the requirements of the ACMC when submitted for consideration to support ministerial consent notices under section 18 applications (see attached DAA Catalogue of Reports). PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL & ASSOCIATES Mr Brad Goode is the Managing Director of the company, and provides the office and support staff; and is the principal Anthropologist. Mr Brad Goode has a major in Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies from Edith Cowan University and a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Curtin University. Mr Brad Goode has a trusted reputation and rapport with many Aboriginal communities gained by 18 years of field experience in the South West, Goldfields, Pilbara and the Mid West. Mr Brad Goode has good working relations with the appropriate land councils that govern native title and heritage matters in these regions. Mr Goode is a full professional member of the Anthropological Society of Western Australia (See ASWA website). Ms Louise Huxtable is an Anthropologist that works in the company and conducts gender specific ethnographic surveys. Ms Huxtable holds a BA (Hons) in Anthropology from the University of Western Australia and has excellent communication skills and high a competence in research and report writing skills. Ms Huxtable is a full professional member of the Anthropological Society of Western Australia (See ASWA website). Brad Goode & Associates can provide clients with a range of Archaeological services. Mrs Jacqueline Harris is the companies’ principal Archaeologist holding a BA (Hons) in Archaeology from the University of Western Australian. Mrs Harris has in excess of 20 years’ experience as a consultant in all regions of the state and is the Treasurer of the Australasian Association of Professional and Consulting Archaeologist & Anthropologists. Mr Thomas O’Reilly conducts Archaeological survey work for the company. Mr O’Reilly has a Bachelor of Economics and a BA (Hons) in Archaeology from the University of Western Australian. Mr O’Reilly has 15 years’ experience in survey work in all regions of the state and is currently the Secretary of the Australasian Association of Professional and Consulting Archaeologist & Anthropologists. Mr Stuart Johnston is an Archaeologist that works for the company. Mr Johnston has BA (Hons) in Archaeology from the University of Western Australian and has worked in the Pilbara and Southwest since graduation. Mr Paul Greenfeld and staff from Deep Woods Surveys (WA) Pty Ltd provide the company with contract Archaeological survey services for larger projects. The director Mr Paul Greenfeld is an experienced Archaeologist and Anthropologist who holds a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Post Graduate Diploma in Anthropology from the University of Western Australian. Mr Greenfeld has formerly worked in the northeast Goldfields region for WMC Resources and was formerly a Department of Aboriginal Affairs Heritage Officer. Mr Greenfeld’ s company has completed many mining related surveys in the Thalanyji country over several years gaining a valuable insight into the Archaeological landscape and site patterning of the region. Brad Goode & Associates professional research team is supported by office staff Mrs Leah Mackie. The office is located in Dunsborough in the Southwest and provides all professional staff with administrative assistance and GIS mapping in Arc-View Version 10 and report production and printing services. SERVICES OF THE COMPANY Since its inception Brad Goode & Associates has provided the below listed services to Government agencies, Land Councils and private proponents throughout the whole of Western Australia: • Archaeological and Ethnographic Aboriginal Heritage surveys • Native Title Research • Aboriginal Community Liaison • Cultural Values studies • Cultural Heritage Management Plans • Preparation of all relevant documentation pertaining to the requirements of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 Brad Goode and Associates also employs a number of key Aboriginal people in each region as liaison consultants. Where possible, Brad Goode and Associates works closely with Land Councils and Aboriginal Corporations in order to identify appropriate individuals within Native Title Claim groups to be consulted about heritage matters. Aboriginal people from the community in which the survey is being conducted are always employed as assistants with the Archaeologists. Heritage work has been undertaken in the Great Southern, Pilbara, Southwest, Goldfields, Midwest and Perth Metropolitan Regions. Regular clients have included Telstra, Main Roads Western Australia, Water Corporation and Department of Parks & Wildlife, Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Department of Water and Shire Councils, inclusive of the Busselton, Bunbury, Margaret River, Albany, Collie and the Ashburton Shires. Heritage work is also completed for Aboriginal Land Councils, principally SWALSC, and YMAC, environmental companies such as RPS Environmental, AECOM, as well as mining companies such as FMG, BHP, Worsley Alumina, Griffin Coal, Wesfarmers Premier Coal, Tectonic Resources, Grange Resources and Galaxy Resources. Brad Goode and Associates is a panel consultant for SWALSC, YMAC, Water Corporation and Main Roads Western Australia.
