2019 27th Annual Poets House Showcase Exhibition Catalog Poets House | 10 River Terrace | New York, NY 10282 | poetshouse.org ELCOME to the 2019 Poets House Showcase, our annual, all-inclusive exhibition of the most recent poetry books, chapbooks, broadsides, artists’ books, and multimedia works published in the United States and W abroad. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the Poets House Showcase and features over 3,300 books from more than 800 different presses and publishers. For 27 years, the Showcase has helped to keep our collection current and relevant, building one of the most extensive collections of poetry in our nation—an expansive record of the poetry of our time, freely available and open to all. Building the Exhibit and the Poets House Library Collection Every year, Poets House invites poets and publishers to participate in the annual Showcase by donating copies of poetry titles released since January of the previous year. This year’s exhibit highlights poetry titles published in 2018 and the first part of 2019. Books have been contributed by the entire poetry community, from the publishers who send on their titles as they’re released, to the poets who mail us signed copies of their newest books, to library visitors donating books when they visit us. Every newly published book is welcomed, appreciated, and featured in the Showcase. The Poets House Showcase is the mechanism through which we build our library: a comprehensive, inclusive collection of over 70,000 poetry works, all free and open to the public. To make it as extensive as possible, we reach out to as many poetry communities and producers as we can, bringing together poetic voices of all kinds to meet the different needs and interests of our many library patrons. -

To feel it myself, I keep writing. I try to forget I’m doing it, writing these thoughts, these memories, these concerns, but I don’t know how to INTRODUCTION forget I’m doing it. If I could, I would have stepped into the silence I’m pursuing. But that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t know how to begin forgetting. had been asked to think about a question I feel I uncomfortable considering: the nature of “the creative,” and my approach to it. To do so feels akin to looking in the mirror a long time and asking the face there, “Is this me? Is this face mine?” What should be obvious becomes less so. I thought perhaps I’d fly to the university where I was asked to speak and talk about being “prolific” instead. But even that thought troubled me as I sat down to write. I began to feel as if what made someone prolific wasn’t an overabundance of creative energy, but some other, almost occult property: that what must express itself inside the hundred of pages, the thousands of words, was something wholly unspeakable, something quiet, something calm, something silent. -

For more information, please contact [email protected]. 1 Wednesday, April 6, 2011 UtahThe Campus Voice tatesman SUtah State University • Logan, Utah • www.utahstatesman.com since 1902 Education college ranks in U.S. Top 50 By KAYLA HALL staff writer For the 12th consecu- tive year, USU’s College of Education ranked in the top 50 of the U.S. News and World Report’s 2012 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools” placing 29th. “We are the only college in Utah to be in the top 50,” said the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services Dean, Beth Foley. “It is very impressive to maintain a ranking in the Top 50 for that long of a time period.” Foley said most of the pro- grams in the college have 100 USU’s COLLEGE OF EDUCATION is currently tackling 200 research projects and received $33 million in grant and contract money in the last year. Dean Foley said nearly percent job placement. Some every one of the students in the education school are able to land teaching jobs. -

Die Karteien des Reichsfilmarchivs Die einzigen, bisher bekannten Informationen zu den Karteien des Reichsfilmarchivs entstammen einem Aufsatz von Hans Barkhausen „Zur Geschichte des ehemaligen Reichsfilmarchivs. Gründung - Aufbau - Arbeitsweise“( in: Der Archivar, 13. Jg., Nr. l; April 1960, S. 2-13). „Beim Reichsfilmarchiv wurden schon aus Gründen der Vereinfachung und der Zweckmäßigkeit alle Filme ohne Unterschied der Gattung oder des Umfangs nach einer durchgehenden Numerierung eingelagert. (....) Im Gegensatz zu dieser einfachen Art der Lagerung in einer einzigen durchgehenden Reihe stand die vielgegliederte karteimäßige Ordnung und Erfassung der Filme. Entsprechend der historisch-technischen Entwicklung des Films, der auch die abteilungsmäßige Gliederung des Reichsfilmarchivs entsprach, wurde eine grundsätzliche Unterscheidung in Filme der Stummfilmzeit und der Tonfilmzeit vorgenommen. Innerhalb dieser beiden Hauptgruppen gab es dann wieder die Untergliederung in Spielfilme, Kulturfilme und Dokumentarfilme (Wochenschauen usw.). Gleichzeitig fand eine Trennung in deutsche und ausländische Filme, diese wiederum nach Ländern geordnet, statt. Die Untergruppe Spielfilme wurde karteimäßig nach der Gattung des Films, etwa „historische Ausstattungsfilme, ernste Musikfilme, Revuefilme, Lustspiele“, gegliedert. Eine gleiche Gliederung erfolgte in der Erfassung der verschiedenen Arten von Kulturfilmen. Expeditionsfilme, biologische ethnologische Filme usw. wurden jeweils für sich gruppiert. Eine ähnliche Gliederung ergab sich für Dokumentarfilme. -
