Dinner was the glue that my family together. I’m not talking about the act of dining together because, except for holiday dinners, the grown-ups and kids rarely ate dinner at the same table or at the same time. The glue that held us together were the actual home-cooked meals. I grew up in a close-knit family. In fact, for the most part, we’re all still very close.
