Introduction and Background About Voluntary Organization Cyient Ltd., (formerly Infotech Enterprises Ltd.,) believes in giving back to society in a measure that is proportionate to its success in business. Cyient spearheads its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives through the Cyient Foundation.

Cyient Foundation (formerly Infotech Enterprises Charitable Trust) executed on March 27, 2002, at in the former united Andhra Pradesh by its Founder & Executive Chairman B. V. R. Mohan Reddy. Since its inception almost 15 years ago, the Cyient Foundation has conceptualized and enabled various social initiatives, aims to facilitate access to quality education, skill development, and participate in projects with business-aligned social innovation, and invest in environmental development projects.

CSR Vision and Objectives Short Title and Applicability This policy, which encompasses the company’s philosophy for delineating its responsibility as a corporate citizen and lays down the guidelines and mechanism for undertaking socially useful programs for the welfare and sustainable development of the community at large, is titled as the ‘Cyient CSR Policy’.

This policy shall apply to all CSR initiatives and activities taken up at the various offices and global locations of Cyient, for the benefit of the society—a key stakeholder of the company.

This policy and the operational guidelines issued herein are subject to and pursuant to the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 (Act) and the rules and regulations made thereunder

CSR Objective, Vision and Mission Statements Cyient believes in the philosophy of returning to society as a measure of gratitude for what it has taken from it. In view of this, the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) aims to extend beyond charity and enhance social impact.

• To help underprivileged children to access the quality of education • To participate in projects with business aligned innovation

The Company’s CSR mission Achieving long-term, holistic development of the community around us by being committed to create and support programs that bring about sustainable changes through education, environment, and healthcare systems.

Cyient CSR Governance Structure

CSR Cyient Board Committee Foundation

Board The Board of Cyient Limited will be responsible for

• Approving the CSR policy as formulated by the CSR Committee • Ensuring that in each financial year the Company spends at least 2% of the average net profit before taxation excluding profits arising from overseas branches made during the three immediately preceding financial years. • Ensuring that every financial year funds committed by the Company for CSR activities are utilized effectively and regularly monitoring implementation. • Disclosing in its Annual Report the names of CSR Committee members, the content of the CSR policy and ensure annual reporting of its CSR activities on the Company website. • Ensuring annual reporting of CSR policy to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of , as per the prescribed format.

As per Section 135, the reasons for under spending of the allocated CSR budget shall be specified in the Board’s Report. The surplus arising out of the CSR activities, if any, will not be considered as a part of the business profits of the company.

CSR Committee

The board of directors of the Company will constitute a CSR committee. The Committee shall:

• Comprise at least three directors including one independent director • Adopt this CSR Policy and monitor its implementation and the programs thereunder • Meet at such intervals as may be required or expedient including once at the end of the financial year

• Approve and adopt the CSR report for publication in the annual report of the company • Do such other things and acts as may be required for the implementation of the policy, matters connected therewith or incidental thereto

The Chairman & Managing Director and President –CA & Infrastructure shall be permanent invitees to the committee. The Company Secretary shall act as secretary to the committee.

Monitoring and Reporting Framework

Cyient Foundation shall monitor the implementation of the CSR Policy through periodic reviews of the activities of Cyient Foundation and Cyient Adopted schools. The respective heads of Cyient Foundation will present their annual budgets and list of programmes, projects, and activities to the CSR Committee for its approval. The Committee will, in turn, recommend this to the Cyient Board for its final approval.

In compliance with the Act and to ensure funds spent on CSR programs are creating the desired impact on the ground a comprehensive monitoring and reporting framework will be put in place. The monitoring and reporting mechanism is divided into three distinct areas:

• Program Monitoring • Evaluation • Reporting and Documentation

RESOURCES Funding & Allocation For achieving its CSR objectives through implementation of meaningful and sustainable CSR programs, Cyient will allocate 2% of its previous year’s, profit computed in accordance with the provisions of the Act, as its Annual CSR Budget. The amount will be contributed to the Cyient Foundation.

Further, the Cyient Foundation may also receive contributions from the associates of the company and its subsidiaries, customers, and their representatives and other stakeholders.

PLANNING

Identification of the thrust areas and strategic initiatives

For purposes of focusing its CSR efforts in a continued and effective manner, the following thrust areas have been identified:

• Primary education, education, and literacy enhancement • Business aligned healthcare • Environment protection / horticulture • Infrastructure development • Drinking water/ sanitation Facilities in schools, particularly for girls • Scholarships to students/trainees etc. • Disaster management activities related to natural calamities.

The committee may modify, restrict or enlarge the thrust areas from time to time within the parameters fixed by the Act. The actual distribution of expenditure among these Thrust areas will depend upon the local needs as may be determined by the need Identification studies or discussions with local government/bodies/citizen’s forums/NGOs.

1. IT Literacy & Digitally Empowering Neighborhoods

Cyient Foundation had launched 54 Cyient Digital Centers (CDC) across Serilingampally Mandal Govt. Schools. The CDC’s aim to provide high-quality digital educational resources to underprivileged students of the government schools, and also digitally literate the community members. Cyient provides access to quality education to more than 20000+ underprivileged children and will literate more than 50000+ non-IT literate communities in the Mandal.

By creating CDC’s, we are democratizing learning for students to have access to the wealth of knowledge including courseware, general knowledge, and current affairs online. We are engaging citizens from the age of 10-60 years to become digitally literate.

CDC’s features: • Online supplemental learning portal for students, teachers, and schools from classes 1 to 10. CDs and DVDs to access offline content. • Curriculum aligned to CBSE, ICSE, and SSC • Learning resources for various subjects (Science, Mathematics, English, and Social) in multiple formats (animations, video lectures, presentations, class notes, worksheets, mind maps, etc.) • A repository of resources (question banks, lesson plans, projects, activities, mapped content, professional development and more) for teachers • Twenty-first-century learning framework—skill-centric, project oriented, and STEM-based—developed by a talented group of subject experts from across the world • Internet connectivity to browse content from various digital library links • Complementing the features of National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) center at the School aims to empower neighbourhood communities with digital literacy, • CDC’s facilitate deployment of digitally-enabled citizen services. • The center is expected to train 1000 community members— one from each family— from the surrounding areas to operate a computer or a digital access device (such as a tablet),

• CDC’s train the community members on how to use the Internet to search for information, send/receive emails and access various e-governance services.

National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Centers:

NDLM Centers provides L1 and L2 level certification training to the community members.

L1: The basic level IT literacy training

L2: L1 + trainees will be trained to effectively interact with the government

Cyient Foundation Digital Libraries

Cyient Foundation had initiated two Digital Libraries with the aim of helping 1000+ underprivileged students gain access to repositories of high-quality educational resources.

These are first of its kind models developed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which is equipped with e-learning tools to help students with their classwork and provides educational material in a number of interesting formats

The first library was inaugurated by Shrimati Smriti Irani and Shri Venkaiah Naidu in Nellore.

2) Improve quality education imparted to underprivileged children:

Cyient intent to improve the quality of education through the adoption of Govt. schools, Cyient Foundation had adopted 16 schools in and around our facilities and presently, we support 10,500+ children from primary education to high schooling.

Adopt a School • August 13, 2007, we signed an MOU for the adoption of Gachibowli School. Since then we have been working towards improving the quality of education through the adoption of government schools. • Presently, we support pre-primary children all the way through to high school students. • Deployed initiatives to provide basic amenities and facilities at these schools • Made remarkable progress by adopting 16 schools in and around the neighborhood of our facilities located in Hyderabad, Kakinada, and Noida.

Empowering Underprivileged Children • Till date, we have supported over 11,500 underprivileged children across 16 adopted schools in our neighborhood

Cyient Foundation Activities to improve the new admissions and reduce the dropouts: • Cyient Associates volunteer to conduct various meetings with children, parents and the local community in bringing awareness on education and its social impact for a child’s future. • Volunteers conduct career guidance programs to show sustainable earning sources to the children after completing their SSC. • Provide nutritious food supplements and supply snacks to the children who attend the extra classes to keep them agile.

Results: The overall dropouts reduced to 4% and the new admissions increased by 21%.

Cyient Foundation Activities in providing quality education: • Constructed seven additional classrooms for higher classes in adopted schools. • Developed play areas and secured the school premises by proper fencing to avoid trespassing by public thus creating a congenial school atmosphere. • Restored power connection and provided lights & ceiling fans for the comfort of students. • Appointed qualified teaching staff for Science, Mathematics and English subjects. • Conducting special classes for 9th & 10th class students. • Distribute notebooks, exam kits school bags, uniforms, and teaching aids to schoolchildren for every academic year. • Conduct various competitions like essay writing, elocution, and painting to bring out the latent talent in children as an ongoing exercise and encourage children with prizes.

Results: The overall pass rate has improved to 85% from 28%.

Cyient Foundation Activities in improving the new admissions and pass% of girl students: • Cyient constructed separate washrooms for girls. Provided quality uniforms to the girl students. • Female Volunteers conduct career guidance programs to show sustainable earning sources to the girl children after completing their SSC. • Provide assistance to the needy to continue their higher education through Scholarships, grants etc.

Girl student dropout % reduced to 3% from 13%. Girl student enrollment % has improved from 20% to 53%. Girl student pass% has improved from 31% to 75%.

Special focus on the Girl Child:

Cyient Foundation is specially intended to impart education to girl children who have been deprived of education for long. Through an inbuilt strategy, our initiatives attempt to overcome the challenges that prevent girl children from attending school. Specially designed girl-child policy, separate toilet for girls, one female teacher in each shift and special sensitization campaigns through Cyient volunteers have been put in place to encourage parents to send their daughters to school.

Cyient Associates and their family member’s participation

• The family members of Cyient associates have been very participative in various CSR events. • They utilize the opportunity of meeting the children on various occasions and motivate the female students at large in realizing their aspirations. • 2600+ enthusiastic Cyient CSR Volunteers are contributing in enlightening the children in realizing their dreams.

3) Social Innovation aligned to Business Innovation

As a part of our business aligned initiatives aimed at giving back to the society, Cyient Foundation is supporting Innovation center at LV Prasad Eye Institute.

Cyient Foundation provides funding for infrastructure to support research, develop new practices, tools, capabilities in the field of Ophthalmology, and also serve as an ‘idea hub’ for knowledge dissemination.

Cyient Foundation has committed to donate an amount of Rs. 2,50,00,000 (Rupees Two Crores Fifty Lakhs) over a period of five years.

Apart from this monetary support, Cyient will also leverage its capabilities to support LVPEI in developing new products for diagnosing eye diseases and imaging eye tissues - products that will be helpful in disease management, therapy, and rehabilitation of vision impaired patients.

LVPEI-MIT-Cyient had organized Engineering the Eye Innovation Workshop: Doctors and engineers united for seven days of nonstop idea generation and prototyping on some of the biggest challenges in eye health.

Funding from Cyient Foundation has helped in the following activities:

• Open Indirect Ophthalmoscope—aimed at developing fundus imaging technology to decrease cost significantly and screen retinal pathologies • Pediatric Perimeter—developing a device to estimate the visual fields in infants and toddlers • Foldable Phoropter—screening device to predict refractive errors (i.e. glasses power) • Educational Tools • O- Optometry students—developed to train/enhance retinoscopy techniques • O-Visually impaired—developed for visually challenged children to learn words and their shapes through a playful puzzle • Pupil Plus—developed to quantify the relative afferent pupillary defects. • Prosthesis for Orbital Excentration—to digitalize the process and refine the accuracy in making orbital excentration prosthesis • Anterior Segment Imaging—developing a device to reconstruct the topography of anterior segment of the eye. • Smart Cane—this smart techno-scientific cane is prototyped for the blind and visually impaired to enhance their mobility • Digital Ophthalmoscope—to prototype a compact size, ergonomic and easy to use ophthalmoscope device to capture and visualize images of the retina and store it for further evaluation • Bulls Eye Drops—a device to self-instill eye drops with precision • Mactel—developing an imaging processing algorithm to determine the severity of macular telangiectasia diseases.

SRUJANA Technology Innovation Center Accomplishments:

• Two Patents—for pediatric perimeter and the bull's eye drops • BioAsia award—first prize for pediatric perimeter • Two presentations at a prestigious annual meeting of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) 2016 held at Seattle, WA, USA and one at the premier annual computer vision event held at Boston, MA, the USA in 2015. • Open Indirect Ophthalmoscope has been selected as one of the finalists at Hackaday Prize 2016 • Foldable Phoropter has been selected as one of the semifinalists at Clearly Vision prize

Support extended to Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), in developing an innovation center in Hyderabad.

Cyient Foundation funding towards expenditure on scientific research (that may be undertaken in the form of projects/studies/programs/activities). Our funding to support in the area of preventive healthcare and strengthening of health systems, for enabling delivery of better primary healthcare in India.

4) Support to Community Development

Swachh Bharath: Swachh Telangana– Swachh Pathashala: As part of the Swachh Bharat Initiative, Cyient Foundation has introduced the Swachh Telangana-Swachh Pathashala campaign to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities in 54 government schools. Impacting more than 20,000 students in Lingampally Mandal in Ranga Reddy District, Telangana.
