Bballzone time 2 Argentina (Article by: rudupis) Argentina (officially called as the Republic of Argentina) - the 2nd largest country in South America and 8ht largest country in the world. We all know Argentina as a great football country, but Argentina’s achievements in basketball are great, too. Unfortunately, Argentinean community is one of the smallest in our game. The community of Argentina only consists of 2 divisions which has 3 leagues (32 teams). There are only 11 active teams in it (5 active teams play in Argentina 1.1 league and 6 active teams play in the 2nd division). The oldest playing team in Argentina is Loch Ness; it plays from 10th season of this game. Loch Ness won 5 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals during this time. Los Camellos team plays from 14th season. It won 2 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze medals. C.B. Malvinas Argentinas is the champion of 21st season. It plays from 16th season of this game. The achievements of Argentina’s teams in the World league are modest. Only 1 team C.b. Malvinas Argentinas plays in 5th division of the World league, 2 teams play in 6th division, other teams play in lower divisions. C.B. Malvinas Argentinas team receives the biggest income from sponsors per week. (30 585 Euro per week). There are not many high- label players from Argentina. The best player by RT is Alfonso Barovero, who plays in Jungenai team (Lithuanian 2.2 league). The best Argentinean player who plays in Argentina is Diego True (Los Camellos team, Argentinean 1.1 league). Javier Fiz receives 18 000 Eu salary per week, it is the biggest salary from all Argentinean players in our game. Javier Fiz plays in Kriapst team (United Kingdom 2.2 league). I was able to talk with Fabricio the manager of Besters team. This team is practically rookie in this game; it plays only the second season. Besters team won gold in the Argentinean 2.2 and in the World 8.92 leagues in the last year. You can read a little interview with Fabricio. Rudupis: please introduce yourself. Fabricio: my name is Fabricio, I‘m 17 year old, my hobby is play and watch basketball and I like ice hockey too. Rudupis: How did you start to play this manager? Fabricio: I‘ve searched the basketball managers in Google search system and I‘ve find Bballzone and I like it. Bballzone time 3 Rudupis: What options of this game do you like and what options don‘t like? Fabricio: I like coefficients of values, but don‘t like that in Argentina market in day be only 1-4 players, bur in Lithuanian market is 10-15 players. This game maybe would be more interesting if we can to substitute players during the game. Rudupis: Write about your team a little. What are your future plans in this game? Fabricio: My team is playing in the strongest Argentina league and in 7.46 the World league. I want that my team will be strongest team of Argentina and maybe in TOP15 in the game. Rudupis: What can you say about your main opponents in the Argentinean 1.1 ant in the World leagues? I played in Argentina 2.2 league in the last year and my team was only one of active teams in the league. I‘ve claimed the gold very easily. There are maybe 5 active teams in Argentina 1.1 league so will be harder than last season. Besters need to fight with strong teams in the world league so will be very hard too. Rudupis: Do you have the manager like this in Argentina? Fabricio: No, we have not. Rudupis: What is your favorite player ant favorite team in real life? Fabricio: My favorite players are: Fabricio Oberto, Carlos Delfino, Manu Ginobili, Pablo Prigioni. My favorite team is Atenas. Rudupis: Thanks, have a good game. * * * * * * Review of World divisions 1-3 in the 21st season (Article by: ElisZz) This is a review of the three strongest world tournament‘s divisions. You’ll have a chance to see who are the champions and the runner-ups of all three divisions. You’ll see some information about teams from different countries and their achievements. We hope you will enjoy this article. So let’s get started. World League 1.1. You can’t disagree that this league is the strongest league. Unfortunately, here aren‘t representatives from a lot of different countries. In the 21st season all of the first division teams were from Lithuania. The World league 1.1. champions were Gaudytojai. Silver medals went to BC Paupis JR. The battle for third place was between Linksmai.lt and BC Tauras. Linksmai.lt won the first bronze medal in World league, but this team had the worst season ever because Linksmai.lt fell down to the second Lithuanian division. In 22nd season there is only one foreign team playing in this league. That’s Miami Rainbow from USA. This team won the silver medal in the World league 2.1. Maybe we will see the first WL 1.1 champion not from Lithuania? World League 2.1. As you know, the runner-ups of this league were a team from USA – Miami Rainbow. They only needed one step and they could have been the champions of WL 2.1, but Miami team lost the final against Zalgiris. The bronze medal went to Klaipeda-93 and BC “ByviZ” ended the season with the fourth place. However, they got a special invitation to the World League 1.1. Bballzone time 4 World League 2.2. The first three places went to Lithuanian teams. The gold medal winners were Etalonas, the silver medal – BC Pacany and the bronze medal went to BC Sh4rKs. There were two Latvian teams contending in this league last season. They were ASK/VEF RIGA (this team took 19th place) and Ventspils Vilki (23rd place). There are now four foreign teams playing in this league: two Latvian, one from the USA and one Italian team. World League 3.1. Interest in the lower divisions is usually not as big as compared to the first two divisions, but there were many interesting matches, too. Among Lithuanians, three teams from Russia, Latvia and the USA will try to show what they are worth and they will try to take high places in WL 3.1. The teams from Russia and USA went to the TOP 16 last season, but they couldn‘t make it to the finals because the Lithuanian teams were stronger again. The champions of the 21st season were Pimpongai. World League 3.2. Last season this league had a bunch of Lithuanians, two teams from UK and one from Italy. This season there are seven teams from non-Lithuanian tournament and they are trying to get the champion‘s name of the World League 3.2. These teams should ask for some advice from WL 3.2 champions of the 21st season - Mėsgaliai or second the place winner Country_boys. The third place winner was kobe n1 from Italy. Two teams from this sunny and well known country are playing in league 3.2 this season and these teams would probably appreciate kobe n1‘s help to win a medal. World League 3.3. This league has the two strongest teams from Portugal and the Philippines. Furthermore, you can see two Latvian teams playing here, too. One of them played here last season. It‘s Sigulda. This team ended the season in the 20th place. Maybe this season will be more successful for this team. One more foreign team had a perfect season and won the second World League‘s silver medal in team history.

Smart, relentless, and a defensive stopper at birth. Just like many other point guards from Argentina, he takes pride in locking up. He’s a pass first, score second point guard. He reminds me of a smaller Pablo Prigioni when it comes to passing. He’s a better scorer than Pablo in my opinion. If you look at typical Argentinian guards in Prigioni, Laprovittola, Bolmero and Campazzo, they all are defensive minded with the ability to pass at a high level and score. I question Campazzo’s size but with the wide spacing in the NBA, I believe he will be able to get in the lane to dish or score with a floater over bigs or just simply getting by someone. He’s cat quick with the ability to hit the open jump shot. I’ve played against Campazzo several times and know how he doesn’t back down from a challenge. He challenges you. He’s like the David against Goliath with a Napoleon complex. A real floor general as he’s the motor of the team.

08 FIBAAMERICAS.COM SPECIAL ISSUE 08 Feature Prigioni, key in argentinean reaction Argentina missed guard Pablo Prigioni in the II Marchand Continental Championship Cup as he was negotiating a deal with real Madrid. After signing the deal, Prigioni reported to the Argentinean team for the FIBA Americas Championship but despite that they had two straight 2009 FIBA-Americas Championship September 2, 2009 losses, but many adjustments have given them three straight wins. The guard has averages of 11 points and 6.8 assists in five games, where they have won three. In the first win Prigioni led the Argentineans with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. "We turned the situation because with two losses it looked that we were in bad shape and we wouldn't qualify. With these wins we have a foot in Turkey," said Prigioni who will be in Real Madrid for the next two ACB seasons with an option for a third year. In their wins Argentina had a better offensive performance by Paolo Quinteros, Federico Kammerichs, Andrés Pelussi, Leo Gutiérrez and Prigioni who have helped Luis Scola who ended as the MVP of the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship. "We are now playing as a team, it is shown in the results, the game, everything. This is not something new," said Prigioni. "It is very important this change in our game that gives us a guarantee in the games that follow," he added. About his expectations with a new team in the ACB, the player is happy for signing with Real Madrid which historically has been one of the main teams in Spain.

  • The Fire Inside Kobe Bryant
The Fire Inside Kobe Bryant Chris Ballard June 25, 2009 SI A GREAT MOMENT IN HUMILITY IT WAS not. After scoring 18 of his 40 points in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Conference finals against Denver, Kobe Bryant said of his scoring prowess, "If I wanted to go out there and put up 35 points a night, I could do that." Granted, the Los Angeles Lakers star was just being honest, but tact would dictate that he let others say such things about him. As you may have noticed, though, Bryant isn't big on tact. Time and again over the last decade he has announced the particulars of his awesomeness. As teammate Luke Walton dryly puts it, "Kobe does not lack for confidence." Just as Bryant's bravado irks some—O.K., many—it also makes him riveting to watch: Like the man himself, the manner in which he bears down is never subtle. Spurs forward Bruce Bowen, Bryant's foil these many years, says there's no indicator of an impending scoring binge, joking that you can't tell "by the way he chews his gum or something." But that's not true at all. Rather, his eruptions are almost comically predictable. Former teammate Devean George, now with the Dallas Mavericks, speaks of "that Kobe face where he starts looking around all pissed off." His coach at Lower Merion High in Ardmore, Pa., Gregg Downer, says he can recognize this expression even on TV. In these moments Bryant's youthful impudence, which flummoxed Del Harris when he was L.A.'s coach during Bryant's first two years in the league, resurfaces.
