CURRENT FIELDS OF INTEREST My research involves the application-driven aspects of ubiquitous computing. As such, I am interested in problems that concern both the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Software Engineering research communities. Specifically, I am interested in the development of techniques to support the rapid prototyping and evaluation of mobile and ubiquitous computing applications that will be prevalent in future computing environments. The impact on our human experience will be exciting to discover, but we will not be able to achieve this vision without significant advances in the engineering of the software for ubiquitous computing. The challenges for designing, implementing and evolving software for everyday human use that runs reliably, continuously and appropriately on the wide variety of worn, held and embedded platforms are numerous and complex. -
