Conclusion I.Introduction With reference to the gazette notification dated 15th January 2016, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the district environment Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) and District -Environment Assessment Committee (DEAC) are to be constituted for prior environmental clearance of quarry for minor minerals. The main purpose of preparation of District Survey Report is to identify the mineral resources and mining activities along with other relevant data of district. The DEIAA and DEAC will scrutinize and recommend the prior environmental clearance for minor minerals on the basis of district survey report. The district Survey Report was prepared with the assistance of Geological Survey of India, State Unit: Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Chennai. In the early 15th Century the present territories of Ramanathapuram district comprising of taluks Tiruvadanai, Paramakudi, Kamuthi, Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram and Rameswaram were included in Pandiyan Kingdom. For a short period, this area was under the Chola Kings when Rajendra Chola brought it under his territory in 1063 AD.

S.VINOTHKUMAR UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF SATHUVACHARI ROUGH STONE QUARRY LEASE APPLIED AREA FOR OVER AN EXTENT OF 0.40.0Ha IN SATHUVACHARI VILLAGE, VELLORE TALUK AND DISTRICT, TAMILNADU OF THIRU.S.VINOTHKUMAR, (Under the Guidelines of Ministry of Environment and Forest in terms of the provisions of EIA notification 2006 and specifically in circular No J- 12022/41/2006-IA.II (I) dated 20th December, 2020) 1.1 Executive Summary of the project The total extent of the Area is 0.40.0Ha, Government land in Sathuvachari Village of Vellore Taluk and District. The category of project is B2. It is a new quarry in Sathuvachari village. The lease applied for stone quarry is located is Exhibits hilly terrain topography. The quarry operation is proposed to carry out with conventional open cast semi mechanized mining with 5.0m vertical bench width of the bench is not less than bench height. Quarrying operation is carried out Splitting of rock mass of considerable volume from the parent rock mass by jackhammer drilling and blasting, excavators are used for loading the Rough Stone from pithead to the needy crushers. Occasionally excavators are attached with rock breakers for fragmentation to avoid secondary blasting. The quarry operation is proposed up to depth for 46m (21m above ground level and 25m below ground level). Geological Resources is estimated at 1,69,785m3 of Rough stone and 3,974m3 of Topsoil formation. Mineable Reserves is estimated at 48,085m3 of Rough Stone and 800m3 of Topsoil after leaving necessary safety distance from the lease boundary as indicated in the precise area letter and relevant mining laws in force.
