The Bulldogs opened the 2020 season on Sept. 20 with a 1-0 home win over 2019 NCAA quarterfinalist South Carolina. It was Georgia’s first win over the Gamecocks since 2014. Junior Abby Boyan earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors and also landed on TopDrawerSoccer’s National Team of the Week as she scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute. The win landed the Bulldogs at No. 8 in the first United Soccer Coaches rankings of 2020, marking the first national listing for the program since September 2014.
