At UNC since the 1986-87 season, Hatchell has a record of 313-161 in her 16th season as coach of the Tar Heels. She has led the team to four Atlantic Coast Conference championships and to the 1994 NCAAChampionship. Hatchell is the only women’s basketball coach to have led teams to national championships in the NCAA, NAIAand AIAW.

Teasley back in uniform Senior guard Nikki Teasley returned to the court against Evansville for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. Teasley spent the 2000-01 aca- demic year away from school for personal and health reasons. She had to sit out this season’s first game while serving a one-game suspension for a violation of the NCAA’s outside competition rule during her year away from UNC. Against the Purple Aces, she came off the bench to score 12 points, grab eight rebounds and hand out eight assists in 29 minutes. She made her first start of the season against Connecticut.
