iXpand Sync provides users with a password protection feature to secure sensitive data.

To enable password protection navigate to the settings menu and select "Security". If you turn-on security in the app, you will be prompted to set a password. Once the password is set, a folder named "SanDiskSecureAccess Vault" will be created on the iXpand drive. This folder will become home to secured files and will only be accessible with the password.

NOTE: Be sure to choose a password that will not easily be forgotten. There is no way to recover a forgotten password or decrypt secured files without the password.

Once Security is enabled and the SanDiskSecureAccess Vault folder has been created you may begin securing files. If this folder or any files contained within the folder are deleted security functions will stop working and previously secured files will no longer be accessible. Do Not delete the SecureAccess Settings folder if you intend to use the file security feature. If you do not intent to use the security feature both the SanDisk SecureAccess Vault folder and the SecureAccess Settings folders can be deleted when the iXpand drive is connected to a computer.
