The objectives of the Sadhankeri Road, near German Hospital, Dharwad participatory planning project included enhancing the livelihoods of the poor and 580 008, India; e-mail: managing the natural resource base. The paper describes the characteristics of the
[email protected] villages involved and their specific peri-urban aspects; the tools used and the Dr Sangeetha participatory planning process; the main issues which emerged from the process Purushothaman, Best and their relevance to different groups (women, landowners, landless and lower Practices Foundation, 1 castes).
