CERTIFICATE COURSE IN BASICS OF ADAPTED YOGA AIM:

To train the intellectually challenged children to understand, and learn the different forms of Adapted yoga and enable them to practice the various forms of meditation for enhancing physical and mental wellbeing.

OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the course are to enable the students to: . Understand the fundamental principles of yogic practices . Practice modified approaches in performing the asana, pranayama, mudra, Yoga Nitra, mantra, and meditation . Acquire the knowledge of the advantages of practicing yoga for physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing. . Enable them to practice different asana and meditations with adaption’s as per individual needs . Equip themselves to do independently learnt yogic techniques

REGULATIONS TITLE OF THE COURSE: CERTIFICATE COURSE IN BASICS OF ADAPTED YOGA DURATION: The duration of the course will be one year. ELIGIBILITY Students with Mental Retardation, Autism, Learning Disability, and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder of age 14 and above (Chronological) are eligible for the course. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION The medium of instruction will be Bilingual (Tamil & English) NUMBER OF INTAKE The maximum number of student’s enrolment for the course will be 10. ATTENDANCE  Every student should put in at least 75% attendance in each course.  No candidate who has put in attendance for less than 75% of the working days in a semester will be permitted to take the ESE unless he/she gets condonation certificate.  A candidate who has put in less than 65% attendance in a course, he/she has to either repeat the course or take an equivalent course. EXAMINATION Examination will be conducted at the end of academic year. Comprehensive continuous assessment will be done at regular intervals. Final Result CGPA is 9.01 and above (with pass in all I Class with Exemplary subjects in first attempt) CGPA is 7.51 and above but less than 9.01 I Class with Distinction CGPA is 6.01 and above but less than 7.51 I Class CGPA is 5.00 and above but less than 6.01 II Class

CLASSIFICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES Those who secure 60% or above the maximum marks shall be declared to have passed in first class. Those who secure 50% or above but below 60% shall be declared to have passed in second class. All others who secure 40% or above but less than 50% of marks shall be declared to have passed the examination in third class. Award of degree A candidate shall be eligible for the award of the degree for the said course if the student has passed all the examinations prescribed thereof. Revision of Regulations and Curriculum The University may from time to time revise, amend and change the regulations and curriculum if found necessary.
