TOP SPOTS AT STAKE IN ATP RANKINGS: With an unprecedented 11th Roland Garros title and a record 31st, 32nd and 33rd ATP Masters 1000 championship, World No. 1 Rafael Nadal leads No. 2 Roger Federer by 2,960 points in the ATP Rankings. Though Federer has a shot at the top spot, his own ranking is vulnerable at the US Open. No. 3 Juan Martin del Potro and No. 4 Alexander Zverev could pass Federer and rise to No. 2, which would end a 13-year run of dominance by the Big Four. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray are the only men to have been ranked in the Top 2 since relinquished the No. 2 ranking to Nadal on 25 July 2005. Meanwhile, 17 different players have been No. 3 over the last 685 weeks (through 9 September). Please see below for all Top 2 scenarios in the 10 September ATP Rankings.

Nadal, Federer, Djokovic or Murray has been No. 1 in the ATP Rankings for 762 consecutive weeks (2 February 2004 through 9 September 2018). Though the Big Four own 49 of the last 54 Grand Slam titles, Juan Martin del Potro, Marin Cilic and Stan Wawrinka have also won the US Open. Djokovic, Murray and Wawrinka return to New York after missing the 2017 US Open due to injuries.

ALL HE DOES IS WIN: No. 1 seed Rafael Nadal has lost three matches in 2018 -- the same number he lost in 2013 entering the US Open. Zverev earned three wins from two-sets-to-one down to reach his maiden Grand Slam quarter-final at 2018 Roland Garros. However, he has suffered four losses at Grand Slams from two-sets-to- one up, including third-round matches against Hyeon Chung at the and at Wimbledon.

Less than a year later, the #NextGenATP Greek became the youngest player to defeat four Top 10 opponents at a single event since the ATP World Tour was established in 1990. Tsitsipas defeated Dominic Thiem, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Kevin Anderson before No. 1 Rafael Nadal spoiled his 20th birthday in the ATP Masters 1000 final on 12 August.
