THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL (VARIOUS STREETS, ISLE OF WIGHT) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER NO 1 2018 Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) and (3) and section 82, 83, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and with all other enabling power and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act proposed to make an order, the effect of which will be: 1. This traffic order will supersede the traffic order ‘The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, IW) Consolidation Order No 3 2017 only in relation to the following lengths of road; 2. To revoke the 30mph speed restriction in the following lengths of road: a) Langbridge, from a point 43 metres north of its junction with Old School Lane to its junction with The Shute. b) The Shute, from its junction with Langbridge to its junction with High Street. c) High Street, from its junction with The Shute to its junction with Winford Road d) Winford Road, from its junction with High Street to a point 120 metres north-east of its junction with Wackland Lane. 3. Ventnor No. 2 Borehole, located near Ventnor, Isle of Wight, penetrated the 16 17 18 basal part of the Chalk Group and the Selborne Group before terminating in the upper part of 19 20 the Lower Greensand Group (Sandrock Formation). The borehole was examined for 21 22 23 Foraminifera, and although they were not seen in the Sandrock Formation and Monks Bay 24 25 Sandstone Formation, the remainder of the borehole yielded moderately low diversity 26 27 28 assemblages dominated by agglutinated species. Foraminiferal zones 3 to 6 (H dentatus to M. 29 30 fallax/M. rostratum macrofaunal zones) were identified in the Gault Formation and zones 6 31 32 (lower) to 6a (M. fallax/M. rostratum to A. briacensis macrofaunal zones) were identified in 33 34 35 the Upper Greensand Formation. For coastal defence management the regional cells have been further subdivided into sub-cells which are either independent or only weakly dependent upon each other. The coastal regime within each cell has been described and this together with the maps of the coastline identify the special characteristics of each area. -
