Anaheim Public Utilities’ enhanced lighting program offers businesses rebates of up to 50% of the project cost for energy efficient LED lighting and lighting control upgrades. By replacing existing lighting systems with LED lights, businesses can conserve energy and continuously save on their utility bills.

Anaheim Manufacturing Day is around the corner! Anaheim’s Economic Development Team joins the national celebration of Manufacturing Day on Oct. 4. Grocery Outlet: Meet Your New Anaheim Neighborhood Market Grand Opening Oct. 31

Grocery Outlet is opening its doors on Oct. 31! The new store invites the community to celebrate its grand opening in west Anaheim. Owner-operators Jose and Sandra Valenzuela are excited to join the Anaheim community and provide quality products at affordable prices. "We are thrilled to be opening a Grocery Outlet in Anaheim. Our buyers work with top manufacturers with excess inventory and seasonal closeouts to bring the community lower prices and a simple way to save money on groceries," Valenzuelas said.

With a commitment to supporting the local community, the Valenzuelas proudly shared that the majority of their recently hired 32 employees come from the surrounding neighborhoods and can easily walk to work.

Anaheim's Chopped Champion: Shachi Mehra of Adya

Shachi Mehra, co-owner and chef of Adya, was a recent contestant and winner of Food Network’s "Chopped." The show features four contestants competing against each other in appetizer, main course and dessert rounds with a basket of mystery ingredients to cook with for each meal. Mehra won the competition and impressed the judges by infusing traditional Indian flavors and making a dessert- like samosa. New Businesses at Anaheim GardenWalk Anaheim GardenWalk continues to grow its tenants and attractions for residents and visitors. GardenWalk recently welcomed Argos Pet Gifts and Accessories, Mystical Gifts and Souvenirs, and Allmytea Café to its growing list of new businesses. Additional businesses opening this month include Casa de Pancho Mexican Bar and Grill and Horror of the Orient, a year-round haunted house.

Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim: Supporting Children’s Education

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim, or KCGA for short, is a nonprofit community service organization formed in 1958. KCGA is part of the larger Kiwanis International organization serving local communities around the world.

KCGA gives back to the community through several annual events each year. It sponsors multiple events with Anaheim Public Library donating $10,000 in free books and more than 1,500 “Bring Up Grades” awards each year to students throughout 24 Anaheim elementary schools. KCGA continues to leave its mark on the community by organizing and sponsoring the annual Orange County High School All-Star Baseball game and supporting other local organizations including the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club, Anaheim YMCA, Chance Theater, We Give Thanks and many other community service projects and organizations.

KCGA recently launched its annual Apple Sales Fundraiser with the help of the Anaheim community. The Apple Sales Fundraiser is the largest KCGA fundraiser of the year, with hundreds of apples sold by students that participate in its college Circle K Clubs and high school Key Clubs. Funds raised support various community service projects and events throughout the year. KCGA is partnering with Anaheim-based Northgate Gonzalez Market on this fundraising effort. Over the years, this fundraiser has awarded more than $630,000 in college scholarships to hundreds of seniors.

As KCGA expands its reach, so do its goals to provide more scholarships and increase its number of projects. New OC Clerk-Recorder's Office in Anaheim

Orange County’s Clerk-Recorder recently expanded to Anaheim, establishing its fourth office where residents and businesses can receive services. Visitors to this location have access to expanded document recording, fictitious business name statements, passport services and two dedicated rooms for marriage ceremonies. Additionally, the Clerk- Recorder’s Anaheim office is open one Saturday each month to accommodate the growing needs of the community.
