English Special thoughts to Prince who died a few weeks ago. This article, published in Holland in 1988, announced that Sabrina was about to join Prince in the US to record a song he had especially written for her. They finally never met... English Since the beginning of October, Gringo is FINALLY available for download in 5 versions: single, Extended Mix, Club Mix, Newage Mix, In the house (but the long versions of the 2 last remixes, released in 89, are not available).

This single, cowritten by Sabrina, was released by BMG/RCA in many countries around the world: Ecuador, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Turkey… In Italy, it was Sabrina third Top 10 hit. The song is still cherished by the fans.

This situation led to growing tensions and their collaboration ended in 1992 when Sabrina decided to stand on her own feet. The long legal battle which followed, deeply affected Sabrina and wasn’t without consequence on her future career, especially in Italy. As for him, he almost stopped his activities as producer in the 90s.

The same year an edit version of Sexy girl (single version) was released on the B-side of the Spanish 12" Multimegamix (2:49) .

In the 90s, the Funky version aka Remix (5:03), a very rare extended version of the original mix was released on mid-price compilations. This version (re-mixed by Mapley Alley?) was probably previously unreleased. In 1996, 2 versions were produced for the album Remix 1996 and were mixed by Matteo Bonsanto, Giovanni Bianchi, Ugo Bolzoni: Undersexy (4:35) & Sexy girl 1996 (4:31).

In 2008, Sabrina decided to re-record her fist single for her comeback album Erase/Rewind which was arranged by Andrea T. Mendoza and Steven Tibet (3:30). Sabrina also performed a short version of the standard 2008 mix to promote her album on TV (1:00).

THE RAREST Maxi CD

by Hervé (France) EN While Rockawillie was Sabrina's comeback single in 1994 and Angel boy its follow-up in Italy or Germany, the label K-Tel strangely released Rockawillie in Finland in 1995 after Angel boy became a minor hit there, peaking at #15. This release was ultra-confidential not to say non-existent. The maxi CD is nowadays so rare that it can be said that it was poorly distributed. If the picture used for the cover is the same as the German maxi CD and the first Italian 12", the white background makes it immediately recognizable.

The four versions of the title track are the same as on the German maxi CD but in a slightly different order: Extended Mix (6:15), Big Willie Mix (4:50), Plastika Mix (5:47) and Radio Mix (3:32).

Value: 100€.

FR Alors que Sabrina avait effectué son retour avec Rockawillie en 1994, suivi de Angel boy, quelques mois plus tard, K-Tel a bizarrement édité Rockawillie en Finlande en 1995 après qu'Angel boy soit entré dans les charts (#15). Cette sortie fut ultra-confidentielle et ce maxi CD est donc très rare. Si la pochette reprend la même photo que le maxi CD allemand ou le 1er maxi 45 tours italien, le fond blanc le rend immédiatement reconnaissable. Les 4 versions de la chanson sont identiques à celles présentes sur le maxi CD allemand mais dans un ordre légèrement différent. Côte : 100€.
