Teachers and other employees of publicly-funded school systems are eligible, as well.

On-Street Test Drives No need to travel all around the region to test drive and compare new vehicles, when you can drive them right at the show! On-street test drives, offering attendees the chance to drive new vehicle models on the streets of D.C., will be offered every day throughout the show. Check the daily program inserts for more details on which manufacturers are offering test drives on any given day. Ford, Honda, and Volkswagen will be offering on-street drives during the show.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE TEST DRIVES PRESENTED BY PEPCO Pepco’s new EVsmart program is proudly presenting the show’s first-ever opportunity to drive all-electric vehicles right on the streets of downtown D.C. Camp Jeep A longtime favorite at The Washington Auto Show, Camp Jeep returns for the second consecutive year, with an all-new off-road obstacle course. Attendees will be able to ride in an all-new Jeep over rocky terrain, up and down steep inclines, and much more fun, all wihtin the confines of the Washington Convention Center.

WHUT/PBS Kids Family Fun Zone Many of your favorite PBS Kids cartoon and action characters will be making an appearance in 2020 at the WHUT/PBS Kids Family Zone! This year’s Family Fun Zone will be bigger than ever, featuring appearances by popular PBS characters including Splash and Bubbles, Daniel Tiger, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Jet Propulsion from Ready Jet Go!, and Luna from Let’s Go Luna! There will also be room for you and your family to relax, enjoy interactive games, watch PBS programming, and much more. ART-of-Motion The fifth annual ART-of-Motion exhibit, presented by Automotive Rhythms, is an avant-garde design experience that benefits the culture and imagination of the Washington, D.C. area. ART-of-Motion will be featured in Ballroom B on the third level throughout the entirety of the show from January 24 through February 2, and will include experiential graphic backdrops consisting of painted autos, custom motorcycles, urban fashion, and dynamic murals. Hyundai Hands on Hope This year’s Hyundai Hands On Hope Contest will once again feature participants from two area medical centers leading the fight against pediatric cancer: Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Children’s National. Contestants will compete for a brand new 2020 over the 50-hour contest period. As in past years, all contestants will be required to remain in contact with the car for all 50 hours (except for periodic breaks). But this year, the Washington Area Hyundai Dealers are once again making sure this great contest helps support a vital cause: pediatric cancer research. The winning contestant’s medical center will receive a $60,000 pediatric cancer research grant, while the runner-up medical center will be awarded a $40,000 pediatric cancer research grant, for a total of $100,000 in grant funding to the two medical centers. See the contestants between 1 p.m. Thursday, January 30, when the contest begins, and 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1, when the winning contestant will be announced!

Subaru Loves Pets Visit the Subaru exhibit in Hall C of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center during each weekend of the show, and you’ll be able to meet, play with, and even adopt one of the shelter dogs provided by the Humane Rescue Alliance, in partnership with Subaru and the Prince William County Animal Shelter. Over 200 pets have been adopted and countless local shelters supported since Subaru began hosting adoption events at auto shows in 2018. Check the daily program insert for information on specific times of operation each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the show.

Live Music Daily from Billy Zero Some of the Mid-Atlantic’s most-talented up-and-coming artists will be performing each day at The Washington Auto Show, organized and presented by legendary radio disc-jockey Billy Zero. The stage at the show will highlight musicians performing a range of genres, from R&B to rock, soul to reggae, and everything in between.
