For all after hours services please phone 0800 WDC HELP (0800 932 4357). Waitomo District Landfill and Transfer Stations Waitomo District Landfill is closed Monday 1 June. Benneydale, Kinohaku, Awakino, Piopio and Marokopa transfer stations will be open from 9am - 1pm. There are no changes to the kerbside collection service for Te Kuiti/ Mokau/Awakino/Waitomo Rural Ward and Piopio (as per normal). Waitomo District Library is closed Monday 1 June. Te Kuiti Visitor Information Centre iSITE is open on Monday 1 June, from 10am - 2pm. ROUTINE HYDRANT FLUSHING - TE KUITI Veolia Water will be undertaking routine hydrant flushing to improve the quality of the water supply in Te Kuiti on the following days: Friday, MAY 29 Anzac Street, Boddies Road, Broadfoot Place, Corinth Avenue, Ellison Avenue, Esplanade, Hinerangi Street, Kiwi Street, Liverpool Street, Mahoe Crescent, Ngarongo Street, Sturgess Terrace, Tammadge Street, Taruna Place, Taupiri Street, Tawa Heights, Tawa Street, Waitete Road, Walker Road, Wesley Avenue. Friday, MAY 29 Ailsa Street, Awakino Road, Bayne Street, Butler Street, Cato Terrace, Colin Brook Place, Craig Terrace, Earl Street, Elizabeth Street, Haines Terrace, Hill Street, Hospital Road, King Street West, Lusk Street, Mary Street, Queen Street, St Andrews Court, St Lukes Crescent, Seddon Street, Te Kumi Road. While undertaking this work Veolia Water will make every effort to minimise the impact on supply. In the event that temporary deterioration of your water quality occurs due to flushing in your street, it is advisable tofirst run your garden tap then the others for several minutes to remove any air bubbles and to restore water clarity. Please do not run water through in house filters before taps are running clear. DOG CONTROL FEES 2015/16 Public Notice is hereby given that the Dog Registration Fees for the 2015/2016 financial year have been set by Council resolution in various categories as set out below: a) A basic dog registration fee of $156 (inclusive of GST) in respect of dogs having attained the age of 3 months. b) A $103 dog registration fee (inclusive of GST) in respect of any dog in the urban area which is kept in a manner which complies with the provisions of the Dog Control Act 1996. c) A $81 dog registration fee (inclusive of GST) in respect of any dog in the urban area which has been spayed or neutered. d) A $59 dog registration fee (inclusive of GST) in respect of any dog where the owner of that dog is covered by Council’s Selected Owners Policy. e) A $37 dog registration fee (inclusive of GST) in respect of any dog in the rural area which is kept in a manner which complies with the provisions of the Dog Control Act 1996. f) A late registration fee of 50% of the fee that would have been payable if that dog had been registered on the first day of the registration year. The late fee will be payable in respect of dogs required to be but which remain unregistered on or after the 1 August 2015. Dog control fees must be paid by Wednesday 1 July 2015 at the Waitomo District Council offices, Queen Street, Te Kuiti or by posting the registration forms and fees to Waitomo District Council, PO Box 404, Te Kuiti 3941. Dog owners who are new residents of the Waitomo District are required to contact Waitomo District Council. Dated at Te Kuiti this 4th day of May 2015.
