Lee Liat Yeang is a senior partner in Dentons Rodyk's Corporate Real Estate practice.

Liat Yeang started his legal practice with the firm in 1993. Since then, Liat Yeang has been advising in all aspects of corporate real estate work including sales and purchase, project development work for developers and real estate financing. He acts for many real estate developers and real estate investment companies in numerous real estate transactions, whether they are by sale of land or by sale of shares in the real estate holding company. Lanx Goh is the Head of International Privacy of Ant Group. Lanx was formerly the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Senior Counsel for TikTok Pte Ltd, Senior Legal Counsel and Privacy & Cybersecurity Lead for Klook Travel Technology Limited and Head of Investigation at the Personal Data Protection Commission where he was involved inthe review process of the revised Personal Data Protection Act.

He is an Adjunct Associate Professor (wef 1 Jul) with the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law and Adjunct Lecturer with the Singapore Management University, School of Law where he developed and continues to co-teach the Privacy & Data Protection Law courses. Lanx is also a Committee Member with the Singapore Law Society, Cybersecurity and Data Protection Committee, and Fellow of Information Privacy and Board Member with the International Association of Privacy Professional, Asia Advisory Board. Further, Lanx is an accredited mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Singapore International Mediation Institute.

He is also one of the authors for the 2nd Edition of Simon Chesterman (ed), Data Protection Law in Singapore: Privacy and Sovereignty in an Interconnected World. Ee Kuan graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Law in 2012, and obtained a LLM from Harvard Law School in 2013.

In 2015, Ee Kuan joined the Singapore Legal Service as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). In 2017, he was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. In 2019, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore andupon returning to the AGC joined the Advocacy Group. Ee Kuan handles a range of criminal, civil and disputes.

Ms Sarah Siaw Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel, Crime Division, Attorney-General’s Chambers

Sarah graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Jurisprudence in 2015. She joined the Singapore Legal Service in 2016 as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). From 2017 to 2018, she was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. In 2019, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and returned to AGC as part of the Crime Division.

Sarah handles a range of criminal litigation and advisory work. She is currently part of the sexual offences specialist group and will be pursuing an LLM degree in Harvard Law School next year.

Ms Lu Yiwei Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel, Crime Division, Attorney-General’s Chambers

Yiwei graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Law in 2016, and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2020.

Yiwei joined the Singapore Legal Service in 2017 as a Deputy Public Prosecutor / State Counsel in the then Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC). From 2018 to 2019, she was posted to the Supreme Court as a Justices’ Law Clerk. Upon returning to AGC in 2020, Yiwei joined the Crime Division. Professor Kumaralingam Amirthalingam Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore

Kumaralingam Amirthalingam is a Professor at the NUS Law School. He has a PhD in Law and researches selected areas of Tort Law (specializing in medical negligence) and Criminal Law (specializing in public prosecutions). He teaches both these subjects and a Master’s course on Business Torts. Kumar was seconded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for two years, has served on various Government committees, and has been consulted as an expert for the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Law. He has twice been appointed as Amicus Curiae by the Court of Appeal.

Professor Susanna Leong Vice Provost (Masters’ Programmes & Lifelong Education) National University of Singapore

Professor Susanna Leong is Vice Provost (Masters’ Programmes & Lifelong Education) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). As Vice Provost (Masters’ Programmes & Lifelong Education), Susanna is responsible for initiatives and programmes on continuous education and training in NUS. Susanna is also the Dean of the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) at NUS. Prior to her current appointments, Susanna wasthe Vice-Dean, Graduate Studies Office, NUS Business School from 2008 to 2016, and had oversight of the NUS MBA, EMBA and MPAM programmes.

Susanna is Professor in the Department of Strategy and Policy, NUS Business School. A graduate of the National University of Singapore and University College London, Susanna is a lawyer by training and has been a faculty member of the NUS Business School since 1991. Susanna's research interests are in intellectual property and technology-related laws. She has published in international and local academic journals. She is the author of “Intellectual Property Law of Singapore" published as part of the Law Practice Series by Academy Publishing. She has received several teaching awards including the Outstanding Educator Award (Department of Strategy & Policy).

Professor David Tan Head (Intellectual Property) at the EW Barker Centre for Law & Business, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & the Law Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore

Professor David Tan is presently Head (Intellectual Property) at the EW Barker Centre for Law & Business, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & the Law at NUS Law. He served as Vice Dean (Academic Affairs) at NUS Law from January 2015 to June 2021 where he had oversight of the undergraduate and postgraduate coursework curriculum. David holds PhD, LLB (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the and an LLM from Harvard.

At NUS Law, David pioneered courses in Entertainment Law, Freedom of Speech and Privacy & Data Protection Law; he has also taught as a visitor at Melbourne Law School, Tsinghua, Tokyo (Todai) and University of Hong Kong. His areas of research cover personality rights, copyright, trademarks, freedom of expression and tort law. He has published over 60 articles, comments, and book chapters since joining NUS Law in 2008. His publications have appeared in a wide range of journals that include Yale Journalof International Law, Harvard Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law, Law Quarterly Review, International Journal for the Semiotics of Law and Sydney Law Review. His monograph, The Commercial Appropriation of Fame: A Cultural Analysis of the Right of Publicity and Passing Off, was published by Cambridge University Press in both hardback (2017) and paperback (2018).

Ms Gloria Goh Counsel, Allen & Gledhill LLP

Gloria’s areas of expertise are in intellectual property, technology and pharmaceuticals, health products, cosmetics and food regulation. Her practice involves a broad rangeof contentious and non-contentious matters involving trade mark, copyright, patent, domain names, confidential information and data protection. Her experience includes conducting intellectual property due diligence in corporate transactions, conducting intellectual property audits for clients, advising clients on the acquisition of intellectual property and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements relating to the acquisition of intellectual property.

Gloria’s practice includes advising and managing information technology disputes spanning a range of different technologies and offerings. She has advised clients on the execution and negotiation of IT contracts with third parties.

He has extensive experience representing multinational companies, listed corporations and public sector clients on regulatory, transactional and enforcement matters. He is a leading practitioner in his areas of expertise, having won many awards and accolades.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has served as an IP Adjudicator empowered to hear disputes before the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. He has also been appointed to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre’s Panel of Arbitrators for IP Disputes, and the World Intellectual Property Organization Panel of Film and Media Mediators, Arbitrators and Experts, among others.

He is admitted to the Singapore Bar and to the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales, and is also a Registered Patent Agent in Singapore.

Mr Mohamed Faizal Mohamed Abdul Kadir SC Deputy Chief Prosecutor & Senior State Counsel, Attorney-General's Chambers

Faizal is a Deputy Chief Prosecutor & Senior State Counsel at the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He holds adjunct teaching positions in various institutions and was General Editor of “Criminal Procedure Code of Singapore: Annotations and Commentary” in addition to being the Author of the Chapter of Muslim Law in the Singapore Academy of Law Annual Review. He is a member of the MUIS Appeal Board. An alumnus of the National University of Singapore and Harvard Law School, Faizal was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020.

District Judge Azmin Jailani District Judge, Family Justice Courts

District Judge Azmin Jailani graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2008 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in May 2009. Prior to his present appointment, Azmin was practicing in M/s Rajah and Tann Singapore LLP (previously known as Rajah & Tann LLP) from 2008 to 2013, and thereafter in M/s Allen & Gledhill LLP from 2013 to 2017. During his practice years, Azmin was specialising in international arbitration, construction litigation, and civil & commercial litigation. He was also a volunteer lawyer with the Law Society Pro Bono Services (previously known as the Pro Bono Services Office of the ).

In September 2017, Azmin was appointed as a District Judge of the Family Justice Courts. In January 2021, he was also appointed as a member of the MUIS Appeal Board, which hears appeals against decisions of the Syariah Court.

Ahmad Nizam Abbas graduated from the University of Keele, United Kingdom and was called to the called to the Bar of Lincoln’s Inn in UK in July 1992. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in January 1994. He obtained a Master of Laws in Islamic Law and Finance from the Singapore Management University in 2013. He is a Facilitator and Trainer at the Singapore Institute of Legal Education for 3 subjects – Family Law, Wills, Probate and Succession Planning and Mediation.

General Terms and Conditions for Events

1) Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of seats. Priority will be accorded to registrations received with payment. 2) Registration fees must be paid in full on at least 5 working days before the commencement of the event to ensure admission. 3) The Singapore Academy of Law reserves the right to refuse to register or admit any participant, and to cancel or postpone the programme. 4) Note: In the course of the event, photographs/videos/interviews of participants could be taken/conducted by the Singapore Academy of Law or parties appointed by the Singapore Academy of Law for the purpose of post event publicity, either in the Singapore Academy of Law’s official publication/website, social media platforms or any third party’s publication/website/social media platforms approved by the Singapore Academy of Law.

Cancellation and Transferring of Registration

1) A administrative charge of S$21.40 (inclusive of GST) will be levied for every cancellation with exception to Point (2). 2) The registration fees will remain payable in full: a) if notice of cancellation is received less than 5 working days before commencement of the event; or b) if a participant fails to attend the event for any reason whatsoever; or c) if a participant arrives late or fails to attend any part of the event; or d) for cancellation of registration for any events for which refund is expressly stated to be unavailable. 3) Registrations are transferable within the same organisation and same fee category. Please provide the name of the substitute to [email protected] at least two working days before the programme. If a non-member is nominated to attend in place of a member, the fee difference must be paid before the commencement of the event for the transfer to be valid.
